Good book
This book was great! It is a great starting point for healing. I took notes and went back to listen to certain parts more than once. At times throughout this book emotions may run high and you may become triggered, but her voice is soothing and has a calming effect. I would recommend this title.

Made me cry while remembering trauma
I didn’t except to cry as a man but It just happened when she was talking about childhood trauma which I thought I had addressed. I so thankful because this brought some awareness on what I needed to work on. Thank you Dr. Thema Bryant and God bless you in Jesus name Amen

Survivor, this is the book you’ve been waiting for
I am taken aback by how thorough this journey is. It follows a similar structure as Dr. Thema’s podcast in the homecoming journey, and to have it all in one place is truly a treasure. I honestly need to re-read this book to gauge where I am on my healing journey, as I consumed it quickly unable to put it down. This book is for anyone who has ever been broken by any sort of traumatic or oppressive experience. I appreciate the author, the book, and her calming voice throughout. I am inspired to further get acquainted with my “home” as something I create to nourish, heal & center myself in the middle of all life throws my way. Thank you, Dr. Thema Bryant, for sharing the journey as a guide & sister in Christ! (P.S. You don’t have to have a faith to read this book, but Dr. Thema focuses on the homecoming journey being holistic encompassing physical, emotional, mental & spiritual aspects of ourselves. She does a great job at interweaving issues people of faith may have with mental health and vice versa with mental health focused people on faith. No matter what you believe, the book will be healing).

The author read with grace and power, each chapter gave you a presence as if you were sitting with your own therapist. The homework directed your journalling and sealed the chapter in your heart. Outstanding!

Bravo! Well done.
I truly enjoyed this book. I enjoyed all of the honesty and vulnerability, and the tools for “Coming Home.” I also really liked that her voice was very soothing and kind, very compassionate. I would certainly recommend it for anyone looking to become a better version of themselves.
