About this listen

Asya

I can't go back to my family. I'm not worthy of them, could never be one of them again.

The sister they know, love, and remember doesn't exist. Not anymore. Until him...

The one who took me in, healed me from my demons, my fears, my scars, piecing me back, bit by bit.

Pavel

I don't get close to people, and I certainly don't need anyone. Until her...

Now, she's all I want, all I need.

The selfish bastard in me wants to steal her away, all for myself. But she no longer needs me.

I have to let her go, let her soar, not break the wings that help her fly. She's not mine to keep, to love, to have.

Can I teach my fractured soul to survive without her?

This is the sixth book in the Perfectly Imperfect mafia series. Each book in this series features a different couple and can be listened to as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, follow the recommended listening order.

Another hit by the Queen!

100/10! It’s the darkest one in the series and for some reasons, I skipped the spice scenes between the FMC and MMC. The age gap after all her trauma bothered me. That being said, I think only an older man could accept and help her through what she has endured. Also, the books based on the Russian mafia have the best stories and sexiest MMCs.

A little too brutal for me!

This was a great addition to the Perfecty Imperfect series. It was just a bit too brutal for my taste. I still liked it. I knew what to expect when I started it. Excellent narration by Gregory Salinas and Allyson Voller. Five stars on this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fractured Souls

Love the story. Even though it is a standalone, I love how Neva Altaj ties in the other characters from previous books. Great series. I purchased all in the series so far. Can wait for the next one.

darkest in the series

out of the whole series this one got into the dark side the most. usually there is some humor in her books, this time not ar all. the subject matter doesn't allow silliness. eventhough there is obvious lack in depth, it dealt with anxiety etc in a relatable way. be aware of triggers, there are plenty

Heartbreaking & Beautiful

This story is beautifully heart-breaking. Asya experiences something no young woman ever should. Pavel has resigned himself to being alone after a lifetime of trying to prove himself worthy. When their paths collide as Asya is literally running for her life fate takes hold and what transpires next is gut wrenching, sad, slow, painful, beautiful, healing and freeing. When Asya frees herself from the clutches of a literal hell on earth she attached to Pavel who is in the right place at the right time to save her. Over the course of her healing he guides her with gentle hands and just enough nudging to help her without sending her spiraling. He tries to understand her trauma and accommodate at every turn. Together they create a bubble of just the 2 of them and start to grow and thrive. A brick is thrown through their glass house when people start to discover Asya's identity and try to interfere, disrupting the delicate balance they have created. The collective spiral that follows leads them to both discover that the opinions of outsiders doesn't matter. Love is Love and they are deeply in love.

This book deals with some very real mental health / trauma issues and the author does it with such care that it never feels disrespectful or like a gimmick. The FMC also never comes across as weak and to be able to write a character dealing with trauma and make the trauma feel authentic without the character seeming whiny or weak is a true testimony to the quality of the writing.

Their are no editing or grammar mistakes to make note of and the flow of the plot is great. Its a quick and easy read without lacking sustenance and a good story line.

This book is also available on Audio with the perfect narrators bringing these vulnerable characters to life with the right amount of strength and compassion.
