About this listen

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland.

The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated. Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn't really available for rent. I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he'd let me stay until I found a new place. I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn't help giving him a piece of my mind. I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages. The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing. And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

My first Vi Keeland book

Would you consider the audio edition of Egomaniac to be better than the print version?

The performance by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt was superb! They really brought the characters to life in realistic and convincing matter.

If you’ve listened to books by Vi Keeland before, how does this one compare?

This was my first Vi Keeland book. As a guy trying to expand my literary horizons, I was somewhat disappointed by the storyline of the book. I felt that the character development was extremely lopsided. The male character (Drew Jagger) is complex, multifaceted, and exhibits a wide emotional range. By contrast, the female character (Emerie Rose) is consistently portrayed as a damsel in distress (with a doctorate degree). A good 75 percent of the storyline focuses on Emerie Rose being rescued or protected in some way. By the first quarter of the book, I could predict her misfortunes and even her responses. The author seemed to give all the emotional depth to Drew Jagger, which would be fine if the book was solely about him and not a romance novel.

What about Joe Arden and Andi Arndt ’s performance did you like?

See above.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot more than I expected. Some aspects of the book took a more serious tone. These moments were mostly related to Drew Jagger's past.

READ IT ALL IN 1 SEATING!!! <3

This book is borderline cliché... in the most DELICIOUS WAY! The author did such a good job that she managed to turn a very classic cliché romance kind of story (foul mouth cocky rich playboy with a heathy dose of trust issues who's afraid to fall in love with a good girl) into a captivating funny sweet book that kept me reading it all in 1 seating. I didn't sleep a wink. I was giddy the whole time... the dialogues between the two were so delicious it left me craving for more.

JUST GET IT!

I'm always skeptical of the ones with the overly hot men on the cover, but this was a really good read/listen...Don't skip the epilogue!!!

chemistry

I have few books by Vi and so far I have enjoy all them, and this one is right up there. U have 1 person who believes in hope and the other who believes in his self. With 2 different opinions of course u see some sexual tension, with 2 hot people. the book finish so fast I was sad it ended. Both narrators did a great job!! However I'm a great fan of Joe.

Unexpected Suprise and a Good One Too

So now just based on the title, the cover and the summary, this enticing love story had way more depth and layers than I was expecting. The chemistry and witty banter between Drew and Emery kept me enthralled to the end. I love that there were several key elements to this story that were not revealed in the summary that made their relationship more interesting and complicated. I just adore it when there is some meat to a story.

Andi Arndt and Joe Arden are a wonderful duo of narrators. I know it's going to be an amazing listen when these two team up and this holds true to that theory.

Absolutely worth the credit and multiple listens.
