About this listen
Christy Award-winner Gould delivers Amish Romance with wit and charm.
Zook only wants to devote herself to God, but struggles with patience toward others. Her sister's challenge that she can't serve God if she isn't willing to serve His people finally opens her eyes and she soon finds herself helping a family overwhelmed by triplets. Much to her surprise, she has a knack with the babies, and her confidence in dealing with others, both young and old, grows. One person she'll never be able to find peace with, though, is Ben Rupp. They've known each other forever, and Ben understands precisely how to antagonize her. What neither she nor Ben realize is that beneath all their bickering awaits an attraction neither will admit. When their friends decide to try and bring the couple together, will the pair be able to find true love? Or damage their relationship beyond repair?

Story
It isn't that Lizzie doesn't want to stay Amish. It's just that there is so much to figure out. Like why can't she let her hair a little looser on top? And why can't she wear shoes with a little bit more of a heel? And will she ever really just know for a fact who she is going to marry, like her next-older sister, Emma, does? And how does it happen that her just-younger sister, Mandy, is going on a date before Lizzie ever has a real one?

Time inspiring
Suzy Jackson has become one of the narrators I follow and have listened to many of her books. I was not sure if I would like the story of the Amish, but this wonderful story from Audible Escape is worth the free listen to. Stubborn Bea to fall in love with someone that she would compete with in school and she never wanted to be married and the things she gets her self into is wonderful. Great job to the writer Leslie Gould for taking me on this adventure. I have added her to my Fantastic Fiction authors to follow.

People can and do change
This story shows that people can change-God can work in those missing parts of our personalities. The only thing I didn’t like about this story was the sexual violence that was touched on. Although things like this happen in real life, I found it a bit upsetting in the story. There was not a lot of details, and it made for a great plot with suspense afterwards. This book is not for children or young teens. Leslie Gould is one of my favorite authors, and I did enjoy this story. I just enjoyed the others I have read more.

Good story
This would have been a 5 star story if it weren't for all the spelling of words. The spelling Bee theme and the word spelling was incredibly juvenile and left me shaking my head and rolling my eyes on numerous occasions. It was really silly and I absolutely hated those parts. I mean, honestly, no one remembers every spelling bee word they ever had in every grade in school and no one walks around spell-talking. It was just plain stupid. Outside of that, the story was really nice!
