I can’t think of a sweeter story.

First off, you’ve got Maybell. This bubbly, high energy people pleaser who finally thinks that she’s got her big break AND proof that someone loved her unconditionally when her Aunt Violet left her a home. To discover she’s sharing it with the world biggest grump Wesley.

But honestly, calling Wesley a grump is a disservice because this man is an onion and all his layers will make you cry 😭 he’s the sweetest, most kind hearted man but just can’t show it. Some of the things he said made me swoon so hard I squealed. At work. Sorry to those who share my cubicle walls

Anyways, if you love:
-cinnamon roll heros
-scavenger hunts
-sweet nothings
-playful couples
-playing house

…you should read or listen to this book because I loved every minute of it!!

Also, I thought this voice actress was perfect for Maybel ☺️

So, if you're here, I'm assuming you've read Archer's Voice.

I know a lot of people are anti-Travis but I, I love a scarred hero with a tragic past.

To me, Travis was just like Archer, just instead of a golden retriever, he was more of a doberman.

Anyways, I digress. This story was Travis' redemption. His chance at a happy ever after. The saddest thing is that I don't think there was anyone who thought he didn't deserve it more than himself. Even though this story was years past Archer's Voice, there was still so much distrust of himself and his intentions. He loved his brother and his family and yet, he just couldn't believe the fact that they could love him back. Once I got into Travis' head and learned about all the guilt and sorrow he carried, I could understand why he lashed out. I think that outside the love story, my favorite part was his healing.

But what a love story it was. Haven is the antithesis of everything Travis thought he wanted and still he craved her. It was so much fun listening to him wonder why in the world he was always thinking about her, wanting to be with her, etc. I'm not usually a fan of enemies to friends to lovers but this one was so good. I don't know if Haven really healed from her scars or if she just accepted her feelings and that allowed her to move past it all. Either way, I enjoyed her character.

I don't know if any of this makes sense but TLDR: Travis is a sad boy and who needs to learn that he deserves unconditional love too. Haven had to move past her past to move forward. They're the perfect opposites attract. And you get to see little baby Archers. Also, spice. *insert seeking eyeball emojis*

If it helps, I loved this so much I went and scoured the internet for the special edition over and bought it to put on my book shelf.

OKAY party people.

Now I listen to audiobooks for books on my TBR that I probably wouldn't get into reading on paper BUT LET ME TELL YOU. I wish I had read it on paper in the privacy of my home because I went into work everyday on the brink of sweating.

Please for the love that is holy, do not listen to this on your way to work. There was visibly something wrong with me everyday.

The spice level was NOT an exaggeration.

Now, maybe it's just me and I'm not a fan of throuples. Like the story was... good. There wasn't anything inherently wrong with it. It's just that the trope of formulaic. There is always one person who is emotionally held back and it's always one of the males. And there is always some sort of convincing that needs to be done. Maybe I'm dramatic but I wanted more??

Don't get me wrong. I liked all the characters and could definitely see where they were all coming from. But again, it's probs just me and I should be listening to tropes I'm not a huge fan of.

The actors for the roles fit the voices in my head perfectly to be honest so that was a plus. They did a great job not being monotonous or too dramatic. So def a 10 out of 10 for them!

This was my first Sara Cate book. I was a little eh about it because boyfriend's dad isn't my cup of tea. Aka I wasn't a fan of a certain girl who's birthday it was. HOWEVER, this... This is throughly enjoyed. I found that I really really enjoyed Charlotte and the dynamic that she and Emerson had.

It hits all the spots for the trope. Tension. Longing. Angst. But I don't know, there is something that set this book a part from others for me. Maybe it was the praise. LOL.

Either way, I loved the way that they portrayed Charlotte's relationship with her little sister. It was really heartwarming for me and I adored scenes with them together. The only thing that held it back from being a full five stars is probably that I hate when the male main character pulls away but again, flaw of the trope. Not necessarily the book itself.

The performance was a 10/10. I wish it was dual narration during the chapters but they managed just fine!
