Of course I knew it was long when I purchased it but the experience of listening was one of wandering around and getting lost.
Perhaps a printed book version would be better to understand the trajectory or path.
It is almost a cosmic review of world history!

The author is certainly well qualified and makes some good arguments. He does include historical perspectives. My take is that a lot of wasted time is spent on preaching and whiny generalizations. Obviously horrified by the 2016 presidential loss, he assumes the listener is pining for some pulpit thumping. He wants the reader to go back to the party’s myths (his constant metaphor or trope). What one hears is often a generalized ranting and less of a didactic meaty presentation. In the end it is worth a listen especially as the alternative is the howling from republicans with their books.

ACLU? Never would I have thought such a fair and NON-WOKE treatise would be so excellent considering her ACLU association. The author reams those who hide behind hate speech laws, repeatedly driving home the simple truth that MORE SPEECH is the only lasting way to counter hate speech. The eminently qualified writer brings the reader/listener to college campuses, to the workplace, to the international scene, to the media (think facebook) with vivid examples of what has gone so wrong in banning hate speech. This is not a dry or stuffy book with legalese jargon. Unlike many authors who narrate their own books poorly, Nadine Strossen makes it a pleasant easy listen. In addition to pointing out the failed policy of hate speech laws (and practices), she offers positive suggestions.
Not overly long, it is worth the few hours to be in her audience. A truly bipartisan (neutral) experience. No hidden agenda.

WELL WRITTEN AND FUN TO LISTEN TO. not dull or dry. Very qualified lecturer . Japanese names/word pronunciation
fluent. If I have any complaint is that the course seems too brief for the time period (7 decades of post WW2 history)

This book does an adequate job of reviewing the history of communism and socialism worldwide , excluding North America.
Presented chronologically for the most part the work starts even prior to Marx, reviewing early socialist and communist movements and eventually ending in the 21st century. I was looking for a bit of history for the United States but was disappointed.
Spanish is my second language but I am fairly fluent and would commend the narrator.
The book is a summary, a framework and I would recommend it for those who just want the skeletal overview.
