Author should not read their own works

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not the best use of my time as the monotone voice of the reader did nothing to enhance the story. I would have preferred to read the book myself.
How could the performance have been better?
Another actor reading would have brought more life to the story.

Trite, boring and preditable. I couldn't wait for it to be over. The narrator was the only good part. Hope she gets better material to read the next go round.
