I laughed out loud at some parts, and at times it was sad but beautiful and insightful. Sarah was very vulnerable and every introverted, people pleasing person will identify. I will listen to it again.

Story
In his instant New York Times best-selling book Do You Mind If I Cancel?, Gary Janetti had us all in stitches as he recounted the pains and indignities of everyday life in the way only he can. Now, in Start Without Me, Janetti returns with a hilarious collection about how sometimes the things we most want to get done and over with are the ones that define us for a lifetime. Gary turns his acid tongue (and secretly beating heart) to the moments and times that have defined him, no matter how embarrassing or annoying they might be to admit.

Audie Award, Humor, 2016. In Furiously Happy, number-one New York Times best-selling author Jenny Lawson explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. But terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.

Furiously Bad
Reviewed: 10-21-21
I was looking for a fun audiobook to listen on my way back home from work, like Gary Janettis book, but I could not even force a smile. I was mostly annoyed by how bad the book was. Just really trying the same formula over and over to say something shocking or quirky, but always unfunny. It actually put me in a worse mood.

Gary spends his 20s in New York, dreaming of starring on soap operas while in reality working at a hotel where he lusts after an unattainable colleague and battles a bellman who despises it when people actually use a bell to call him.

Story
Like many women, Clare Pooley found the juggle of a stressful career and family life a struggle, so she left her successful role as a managing partner in one of the world's biggest advertising agencies to look after her family. She knew the change wouldn't be easy, but she never expected to find herself an overweight, depressed, middle-aged mother of three who was drinking more than a bottle of wine a day and spending her evenings Googling 'am I an alcoholic?'

Get this in audio book, not only you will hear her lovely Slightly posh London accent but every kind of accent she perfectly impersonates but also how funny and witty she sounds. A great book for someone contemplating sobriety, trying to cut back or dealing with cancer who wants to see everything in a more humorous way. I couldn’t read “the naked mind “ because it was so preachy and judgmental, but this was the opposite. Claire is brilliant!

I understand it’s a conversation with women but it’s with the same narrator who sounds the same in every one of them. Not a natural conversation, very artificial. Couldn’t finish it.

I couldn’t even finish it! So preachy
Reviewed: 02-08-19
So disappointed with this book. I wanted a book that helped lead a better lifestyle, have more alcohol free days and not crave it at night. Like the title says “control alcohol”, but this is extremely preachy, repeating that alcohol is “poison” and is “ethanol” and tastes awful. I’m a certified Sommelier who studied wine for years and how it can balance the meals and enhance their taste and I was embarrassed for her when she started talking about it - like everything was a sham. She is completely unqualified to write about alcohol, or to be a writer.
