Story
Living in a year around Christmas town has its drawbacks. The caroling, the decorations, the insanely cheery spirit, it never disappears. It's why I like to hibernate away in my cave - I mean housekeeping a healthy distance from the holly jolly spirits. And all was going according to plan until my nemesis, Storee Taylor, moved in next door to care for her Aunt Cindy. Without blinking, she turned my simple world into a real nightmare-before-Christmas, especially when she decided to enter the town Christmas Kringle contest - which she was determined to win.

This was horrible! The characters are jerks, especially the FMC. They’re all too competitive, childish and nasty! I just couldn’t continue on!!

Story
Clare remembers the cold. She remembers abandoned cars and children's toys littered across the road. She remembers dark shapes in the snow and a terror she can't explain. And then... nothing. When she wakes, aching and afraid in a stranger's gothic home, he tells her she was in an accident, a crash in the snow. He claims he saved her. Clare wants to leave, but a vicious snowstorm has blanketed the world in white, trapping them together, and there's nothing she can do but wait.

Perfectly Enchanting!!

This lushly written gothic fantasy was entirely captivating!! Craig’s writing always pulls me into her stories and when they’re over I’m starry eyed and can’t shake the story for weeks.
Her acknowledgements at the end of the book were beautifully written too, she takes something that would normally be quite ordinary and turns it into something wonderfully charming.
If you have never read a book by Craig, I highly recommend you do and this one will have you wanting to read more and more of her stories!!

Such a beautiful short story about love!!
Reviewed: 12-07-24
This is a story about love, all kinds of love. Love of family, sisterly love, love of good friends and romantic love. In this short story that covers fear, anger, forgiveness, pain and love, I was filled with all the feelings and the appreciation of those in my life who I love…through life and after they’re gone. Love is eternal.

I should have known everything was going to change when she walked into my tattoo shop... Timid as hell and gorgeous to the extreme. I knew better than even thinking about touching a woman like that. My life is dangerous. My calling wicked. Willing to cross any line to protect the innocent. I thought I’d never see her again until my little boy tumbled and busted his lip, and I found her working at the doctor’s office. The woman who’d taken possession of my thoughts. When it becomes clear she’s in trouble, I offer up a deal.

I fall in love with all Jackson’s characters. She writes the most amazing, complex characters. But River and Charlie were something special!! River is equal to Trent, my favorite Jackson book boyfriend. And Nolan is so adorable! How could you not fall in love with that little boy?!!
The twists and turns, and suspense were amazing!! I didn’t want to put it down!! I love River’s sister, Raven, too and cannot wait for her story!! I can already tell this is going to be another amazing series!!
The narration was amazing!!

This series is definitely addictive, but I’m not sure if I can keep going. It’s so depressing. So many people…good people, that I love…keep dying. This is definitely not good for my mental health.
I do want to know how things turn out, but I’m scared. I’m definitely taking a break and I’ll see a way down the line if I can handle the next two books.
This is a FANTASTIC Zombie Apocalypse story, it’s just gut punching sad.
