Story
A reluctant ex-spy with demons of her own, Elinor finds herself facing down one of the most dangerous organized crime gangs in London, ultimately exposing corruption from Scotland Yard to the highest levels of government. The private, quiet “Miss White" as Elinor is known, lives in a village in rural Kent, England, and to her fellow villagers seems something of an enigma. Well she might, as Elinor occupies a "grace and favor" property, a rare privilege offered to faithful servants of the Crown for services to the nation.

Story
Daisy Wilder prefers the company of horses to people, bare feet and salt water to high heels and society parties. Then, in the dizzying aftermath of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Daisy enlists in a top secret program, replacing male soldiers in a war zone for the first time. Under fear of imminent invasion, the WARDs guide pilots into blacked-out airstrips and track unidentified planes across Pacific skies. But not everyone thinks the women are up to the job, and the new recruits must rise above and work side by side despite the resistance and heartache they meet along the way.

Very disappointing production

The narrator, director, editor and anyone else responsible for the neglecting to see that the Hawaiian words were pronounced correctly should be embarrassed. The emphasis on changes the meaning of words and incorrect pronunciation of the vowels caused me to stop on chapter 3. So frustrating to hear the language I grew up with butchered. I will buy the book and record it myself to get the full story. I’m very surprised the author let this recording pass to the public. I’m going to seek my money back. No huhu but very pilau. No aloha for this presentation. I have no idea if the story is any good but had to give it a star in order to get review submitted.

I really appreciated the choice of Stuart Blinder as narrator. I've read all the Red wall books and listened to all the Red wall books. I like this version as I don't always want to hear the music; as good and enjoyable as it has always been. Blinder voices all the characters very well. The story and development of it and characters are always a treat. more of the series, p!ease, with Stuart as narrator!

A true gem. Thank you Billy Crystal. Beautifully thought out and crafted with sound effects and very versatile actors. The story of the last hours in a man’s life and how he “handles” it as a very public individual, father and husband is full of humor and feeling. I highly recommend this recording and the story to everyone.

I missed this information in school and now want to know more. But this story is more about people and learning to forgive. The author takes us from a puzzling find in his back yard to a woman angry with life, a young German in difficult straits and heartache to what is possible when people care about each other. Very well read by the author.

Story
In 1942 the US Army unleashed one of its greatest secret weapons in the battle to defeat Adolf Hitler: training nearly 2,000 German-born Jews in special interrogation techniques and making use of their mastery of the German language, history, and customs. Known as the Ritchie Boys, they were sent in small, elite teams to join every major combat unit in Europe, where they interrogated German POWs and gathered crucial intelligence that saved American lives and helped win the war.

My hat goes off to the author for all of his pains-taking research. The American German Jews brought to life has made a big impact on me. Hypocrisy, prejudices, turning a blind eye, focus, determination, family values, and moral values; I wonder where I fail in those. The narrator handled all the German, French words extremely well. There was even a touch of Russian. Very glad I chose the book.

My first in the series
Reviewed: 08-04-18
I appreciates books in a certain order so I put this one as my 1 in the Redwall books. Jacques is wonderful with all of his characters rhymes, and locations. Having a group of actors portray the characters while he is the narrator is Jacques is perfect. The only jarring note in this book is the voice supplying calling the chapters. So out of context and almost depressing.
I have read all the books 3 tomes and I’m on my second go round of audio. Not all books are on audio.
