Story
It’s been two years since Anna Cartwright’s life fell apart. During her first school trip as a young teacher, a student went missing and was never found. Not only was her career ruined, she was also accused of having an affair with fellow teacher and prime suspect Graham. Facing questions from journalists, police and family, Anna said she didn’t know what happened. She was lying. Now, Anna has returned to Australia. Her only hope is Land’s End Area School, an isolated concrete wasteland perched on the cliffs.

This book was like listening to Groundhog Day. Same thing over and over, but none of it fitting together or making any sense. Total waste of time.

Story
Christa Playfoot is looking for a fresh start after her divorce. Having lost her Michelin-starred restaurant, she hadn't expected to be job hunting and single just before Christmas. When her best friend says she's recommended Christa for a gig as a private chef over the Christmas period, Christa can't think of a reason to say no. Christa has no idea what to expect but it's certainly not grumpy billionaire divorcee Marc Ferrier and his rambunctious twin sons, or the beautiful but cheerless country estate, Pudding Hall, that they inhabit.

Story
Ten years ago he killed my son. Today I married him. Ten years ago my darling son Jesse was murdered and our perfect family was destroyed. My strong, handsome boy, so full of life, became a memory, a photo I carried with me everywhere. But today I’m finally close to finding happiness again. My ash-blonde hair has been curled into ringlets. Carefully placed white flowers frame my delicate features. The small, drab chapel has been prettied up with white satin, and there are tiny red hearts scattered on the small table where I will soon sign the register with my new husband.

I liked this story the least out of all of her books: just kind of blah and a way to pass the time. I had it playing on my Bluetooth and went outside leaving it in the house and would come back 15 minutes later feeling like I’d missed absolutely nothing. I don’t recommend wasting a credit.

So slow and the female lead Character is so boring and unlikable.
Reviewed: 10-20-24
This book was so slow and so boring. They female lead character couldn’t have been more dull or
Unappealing. Makes it so unrealistic and throws the entire story off trying to get us to believe the lead male character who is gorgeous, charming, kind, would fall for this duller than dull female character. It was dull and boring and I disliked the female character so much I couldn’t even finish the book. Nothing at all even remotely interesting about her. About as exciting as a fence post. Don’t waste your time.

I thought moving to this quiet cul-de-sac was the fresh start my husband and I needed, escaping the noise of our cramped flat in Hounslow. I left India and all that was familiar for a new life with him in England. But my husband works all hours, leaving me alone in a house that doesn’t feel like a home. Our neighbours notice the bruises on my arms. They draw the obvious conclusions. They seem kind, but they’re hiding something. I just can’t shake the feeling that someone is always watching me . . . waiting. My husband’s working late. Again. That’s when I see it.

Completely confusing and all over the place. Worst audio book I’ve listened to as of yet!
Reviewed: 10-13-24
This book was impossible to follow and my brain is jumbled just trying to make it into something that makes sense. It goes back and forth in time, never develops the characters much at all, like there’s no feeling of “knowing them.” I cannot stress enough how much of a total waste of time listening to this was. That being said the narrator’s were decent.

This was such a long and drawn out book that I didn't particularly enjoy but needed something to help pass the time on a long drive. It's repetitive, unrealistic, leaves loose ends and is just overall pretty dang boring. None of the character are even remotely likable so that was a huge factor in why this book was so bad.

Walt thinks he might find the answers he's looking for among the ruins of an old Native American boarding school—an institution designed to strip Native children of their heritage. He has been haunted by the image of the Fort Pratt Industrial Indian Training School ever since he first saw a faded postcard picturing a hundred boys in uniform, in front of a large, ominous building—a postcard that was given to him by Jimmy Lane, the father of Jeanie One Moon.

Story
On an ordinary Monday morning, Ariel Cafferty's phone buzzes with a disturbing text message. Something’s happened. I need to see you. Meet me under the candelabra tree ASAP. The words would be jarring from anyone, but the sender is the only man she ever loved. And it's been several years since she learned he died. Seeing Drew’s name pop up is heart-stopping. Ariel’s gut says it can’t be real. But she goes to the tree anyway. She has to. Nobody shows.
