Story
In turbulent 1870s Texas, the revered and fearless Ranger Leander McNelly led his men in one dramatic campaign after another, throwing cattle thieves, desperadoes, border ruffians, and other dangerous criminals into jail or, if that's how they wanted it, six feet under. They would stop at nothing in pursuit of justice, even sending 26 Rangers across the border to retrieve stolen cattle—taking on hundreds of Mexican troops with nothing but their Sharps rifles and six-guns. The nation came to call them “McNelly’s Rangers.”

Story was good and informative, but i do not like George Newbern as reader. He mispronounces so many words it gets distracting (Bexar, Kiowa, beeves to name a few).

Brad Taylor never disappoints and this one is no exception. An unexpected death early on begins a thrilling adventure with all of our favorites on board. Veep is not in this one very much, but plays an important role. Now the clock has to begin again until the next Pike Logan story is here. We need another short story soon in the vein of "Exit Fee".

Back when Harry Bosch was just a rookie homicide detective, he had an inspiring mentor who taught him to take the work personally and light the fire of relentlessness for every case. Now that mentor, John Jack Thompson, is dead, but after his funeral his widow hands Bosch a murder book that Thompson took with him when he left the LAPD 20 years before - the unsolved killing of a troubled young man in an alley used for drug deals.

Reviewed: 12-10-19
Bosch, Ballard and Haller all in one. A lot of cases covered in this one. It may be time for a Bosch stand alone book, but given his official status makes that very difficult unless he becomes a full time PI or something similar so the partnership with Ballard makes a lot of sense. At least Maddie was not in this one much.

Team Cinderella has been sent into Russia to fake an assassination of a Russian Deputy Minister, in order to cover up the fact of his defection to the United States. They accomplish the mission, but then are compromised during their own escape and captured. They are quickly disavowed by the US Secretary of State, and sentenced to a public execution in Red Square only a week hence. Noah, at Neil's urging, convinces Allison to let Team Camelot put together a fast rescue mission, but complications require Noah and Marco to break into Lefortovo Prison, where they are also captured.

Decent Book, but it is MI6, not M16
Reviewed: 09-28-19
The book continues the adventures of Team Camelot and Team Cinderella, but the narrator continually calls it M16, not MI6 This is like fingernails on a chalkboard or someone continually saying irregardless. I cannot take it. If the MI6 agent appears in future books, I hope the narrator learns to say it properly. It is a British government agency, not a military rifle. Other than that, it was another good romp with the teams.

I listened to part of this book, but then read most of it on Kindle. I do not like George Newbern as the narrator. This is the 4th book in the series that I have listened to on Audiobooks, but will likely just read any future installments unless George Newbern is replaced. His voice is not right for an edge of the seat thriller.

Twenty years ago, Brandon Taylor was thought to be just another teen boy who ended his life too soon. That's what almost everyone in Tibbehah County, Mississippi, said after his body and hunting rifle were found in the Big Woods. Now two New York-based reporters show up asking Sheriff Quinn Colson questions about the Taylor case. What happened to the evidence? Where are the missing files? Who really killed Brandon?

Ace Atkins has inserted more political commentary in each book in the Quinn Colson series. This one went over the top. He even paints the Jaycees as a subversive group. Just about at the point of ending my reading/listening to Quinn Colson books because of it.

Working in deep cover, Noah and the team are fully aware of the danger that surrounds them as they prepare for the most comprehensive mass elimination in E&E's history, but things may not be exactly as they seem. At the same time, Noah must deal with Monique, the seemingly untouchable mole that has tentacles in every government agency, but it's while dealing with her threats that he realizes there's something amiss. Who stands to benefit most if the Morgan Mafia is eliminated? Even more importantly, whose hands will he be playing into if the mission is carried out?

Another great book by Mark Greaney and narration by Jay Snyder. There was a lot more of other characters than just Court in this one, but not a disappointment. The 6 foot 9 inch giant of a man took Court to the woodshed too many times which may take some time to recuperate from. Either Court, Zoya or Zack need to make Suzanne Brewer disappear soon either with Hanley's approval or not.

Taken from a group home at age twelve, Evan Smoak was raised and trained as part of the Orphan Program, an off-the-books operation designed to create deniable intelligence assets - i.e. assassins. Evan was Orphan X. He broke with the Program, using everything he learned to disappear and reinvent himself as the Nowhere Man, a man who helps the truly desperate when no one else can. This one continues the string of excellent Orphan X novels. The story was excellent and the always great Scott Brick did his usual outstanding job of performing the novel. The Nowhere Man's client was in the story some, but not as much as in previous books, but, in this case, that was a good thing. Gregg Hurwitz, Evan Smoak and Scott Brick never disappoint. I am getting a bit weary of the Asst District Attorney story line however.
