Dr. Sam Anderson is one of the most celebrated scientists in history. Ten years ago, he invented a device that changed the world forever. Sam believes she's innocent, but he can't prove it. There's only one thing he can do to save his daughter: confess to the crime. And so he does. But in the future, murderers aren't sent to prison. Story
The holidays are upon us, and this year Audible is very happy to present to our members one of Charles Dickens’ most popular Christmas stories, The Cricket on the Hearth. This holiday classic (original subtitle: “A Fairy Tale of Home”) tells the innocent, picturesque, and charming story of a poor family and their would-be guardian angel; in short, a delightful vision of Victorian Christmas. As always, a great story calls for a great voice, so we’ve brought in legendary actor and record-breaking Audie and Grammy award-winning narrator Jim Dale ( The Night Circus). Happy holidays and happy listening!

Thought provoking

I really enjoyed the individual stories and how they tied together. They have actually given me some thoughts on things in my own work life. Only one story could have had a slightly better narrator which threw off the consistency with the “librarian” but I truly enjoyed the book very much and wouldn’t let that deter you from listening. A unique concept and one that I hope to see more stories from in the future. Always good things to be found in the library.

Brilliant follow up story
Reviewed: 02-17-23
I was nervous how this would follow the other two books but it exceeded expectations. Loved it. What a great follow up to the other two books. The story and the characters are well thought out and developed. I loved Gothlie and Gethli! I look forward to more “adventures” in the future. I liked that this book had more of a lighter/brighter feel than the last one.

Story
When George d’Clare receives the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, he and his wife. Madison. organize a support group. This noble endeavor eventually leads them to meeting a strange man with an incredible story - a captivating tale about a device that could transport a person into the future and return them safely to the present. His far-fetched account also comes with an equally fantastic offer: to help him in a daring plan to use the device to bring back the cure for the disease. Thinking the man suffers from dementia, George dismisses him as delusional.

I like it when you find a hidden gem of a book like this. This was a great listen and I thought the pairing of the narrator to story was perfect. A great rainy day listen. I found the storyline and characters engaging and the format of “then” and “now” easy enough to follow. Really enjoyable.

This second book is a special reminder to what a difference a few words can do to change a person’s life and bring happiness. More heartwarming stories to enjoy coffee by. You will want to listen without distractions or you can miss small details with the characters and stories. This second book is equally as good as the first and the series has become a favorite of mine I can listen to multiple times. Kevin Shen does a great job as did the first narrator. Looking forward to more stories.

If you liked any of the last works by Kate Quinn this won’t disappoint. Another awesome immersive listen. I love the details the intertwining of history, characters, and story. The amount of research has to be tremendous but well worth the beautifully executed story she has here. This will be a repeat listen for sure. Saskia does such a fantastic job with Kate’s books. I liked the concept of this story when I stumbled across it prior to release. The characters are endearing and the storyline while it may be predictable it is thought provoking and builds a unique visual in your imagination. This would be an interesting book to build upon with other stories. The narrator I have heard before and really enjoy Kevin’s reading. For anyone who loves books and appreciates them this is a cozy tale you will enjoy. And what’s not to love about a cat who can talk.
