Story
Real self-care is an internal, self-reflective process that involves making difficult decisions in line with our values, and when we practice it, we shift our relationships, our workplaces, and even our broken systems. Using case studies from her practice, clinical research, and the down-to-earth style that she's become known for, Pooja Lakshmin provides a step-by-step program for real and sustainable change. Real Self-Care is a complete roadmap for women to set boundaries, move past guilt, treat themselves with compassion, get closer to themselves, and assert their power.

A much needed book on adjusting mindsets and dealing with society systems that are holding us back. I appreciate this point of view and the examples.

Finally an easy to understand collaboration of the current research on brain function, stress, trauma, and the body. This book managed to squeeze several key points into one read. I loved all the details and research. The narrator was a little dry but this was a pretty up to date book.

This is a wonderful application of how to calm your nervous system using specific techniques. Deb has a pleasant voice and the class has a well-organized, casual pace. This book is ahead of its time.
