Down to the wire
Reviewed: 12-07-24
As the High Republic reaches it's end, am eager to listen to what comes next. This audio drama makes things more intense, with Boolan becoming more Mengele-like, and Ro losing his mind, the only upside being Laurna getting some type of redemption, and the Jedi unable to use the Force regaining it. All the cast members are excellent, with Marc Thompson being a stand-out, as he voices three characters, 2 in multiple scenes, even.

While I am a fan of Star Wars novels that focus on the Jedi, love the Wraith Squadron trilogy that focuses on the military aspect. Marc Thompson delivers another peak performance. No wonder he's my favorite narrator regarding Star Wars novels.

Story
Filipino-American bounty hunter Domingo has made a career of catching criminal undocumented immigrants. He’s the best in the business—and it isn’t lost on him that he’s so good because of his similarities to his targets. Despite Domingo’s claims that he is unsympathetic to their plight, yet spends his spare moments on stakeouts and in between jobs writing a book of advice for aspiring immigrants. Brash, funny, and candid, he compiles the names of all the people he’s apprehended, documenting the hazards of his profession, and imparting advice to foreigners who dare to dream of life in America.

An eye-opening novel
Reviewed: 11-03-24
For her debut novel, it's very well researched, and well-narrated as well. Domingo, is it, is an excellent main character, being a bounty hunter, for lack of a better term. Ramon De Ocampo, is, once again at his best with his vocal tallents. Highly recommend.

Story
All drummer Vienna Taylor ever wanted was to make music. If that came with fame, she’d take it—as long as her best friend, guitarist Madison Pierce, was sharing the spotlight and singing lead. And with their new all-female pop rock band gaining traction, soon everyone would hear their songs… Except, on the way to an event, the Bittersweet’s van careened off an icy mountain road during a blizzard—leaving one member dead and another severely injured. In order to survive the frigid night, the rest took shelter in a nearby abandoned cabin.
