Reviewed: 02-21-24
If you like the whole older supposedly straight man who falls for the supposedly straight jocky teen then this is it. There were very many scenes where I was like OMG but, I'm not gonna lie. It took a me a little while to not cringe between the father and his son. It just didn't seem right and made me question if laws had not been broken with this father. I think that could've been left out. Overall it was pretty good for the book having been free.

Surprised!

I was thoroughly surprised after hearing. I work with SPED ( Special Education) students on a day to day basis and after hearing this story and how the MC felt towards the things going on around her, I was rooting for her all the way. People tend to think that a person with a disability is therefore disabled and unable to comprehend what's going on around them, but they are wrong. People constantly acting as if she wasn't there and acting as if she didn't know what was going on frustrated me for her, but she took the high road many times. The book was a great mystery and I loved the POV we all got to take. 5 stars!

James Patterson leads you into the darkest recesses of the mind with this chilling, immersive audio thriller. We meet Brent Quill, a frustrated actor trying to take his game to the next level. When he learns about the intensive Method acting process, he dives in deep—and immediately lands the lead role in a TV series about a brutal serial killer. But when the Method’s controversial techniques start to take over Brent’s psyche, the lines between real life and acting begin to blur dangerously. How far will Brent go to “become” the character?

I would have to say after listening to this auidobook I was a little "creeped out" by the whole idea that no one believed for so long that the MC, Brent, was spiraling out of control. I mean there's dedication and then there's psycho. 🤷 I don't know how he got away with as much as he did as if there is no such thing as evidence. I mean come on! An amateur getting away with so many murders and never leaving anything behind except the one time. Then witnesses that never notice that a TV star just might be the person who attacked them. Very weird. Some parts were just a littleon the cringe side. Sorry. I gave this book 3 stars due to the performance mostly. I guess this book just wasn't my "Diet Coke". Lol

I absolutely love this story. Mary Calmes and Greg Boudreaux are such a great Duo when they get together and create stories such as this. I was hoping that this wasn't going to end in a sad way but it definitely ended in a way that I could have planned out better myself. This story is all about escaping the bad just to come back and face it and realize things are not always still as bad as they seemed before. The trip started with the MC coming to see his grandmother and take care of her needs, and then ended with a love he never expected to find. A truly beautiful book that I will be listening to more times in the future like I do with all my Mary Calmes books.

Overall I loved the young women's personalities and spunk but I definitely didn't like the egos on the men and their overbearing personalities. It annoyed me so much that I hated whenever they entered in the scene. Torak's constant grabbing on her and controlling attitude sounded like he was one step away from abusive. I mean he even said that if River had not given in to mating with him then he would've just taken her. I mean the women really had no choice whatsoever because the brothers never would've let the "sisters" go. I like S.E. Smith's other series like the Alliance one. I don't think I am going to listen to anymore of this one though. Disappointing.

This book was a true blessing and I will definitely be telling people to listen to this book. I truly sympathized with how Jane lived her life. She had to be such a strong woman at such a young age. I have never had to live like how she did but how her life was described I actually felt like she was a friend of mine. I cried at times and cheered at other times. I felt myself getting mad when she was upset and getting frustrated with her when she was being stubborn. I swear I feel like I went on an emotional rollercoaster but in the end I came out feeling like I had a new goal. I really feel like through God relationships can never fail as long as you put him first. I find that I have even more faith that God will send me someone special and I hope to have a love like how Jane and Aiden had. I know I just have to be patient but I hope that I will know him when I see him. Thank you so much Michelle Onorati for writing this beautiful book and Natalie Naudus for narrating this book so well. 5 stars all around. Excellent. I actually stumbled across this book but I am glad I did. If you haven't listened to this book you should definitely do so. I promise it doesn't feel like 12 hours and it could even been longer and I still would have been happy.

this story started off confusing me for a minute until I realized that Lily just kept coming back. I have never thought about listening to a story like this before but I was amazingly surprised. This story is truly sweet, hot, loving, and thrilling all in one. there were times when I was blushing and times when I was laughing. I loved her swear jar. "Caleb that will be $.50 in the swear jar." This was a different kind of western but truly wonderfully written and the narration was great as well. I usually don't like female narrators but Samantha Cook was perfect! great listen and you definitely won't be disappointed.

Story
Nathan wasn't sure why people were so obsessed with dating and sex. Sure it probably felt good, but he just couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. It might have helped if he knew what he was looking for. But with so many labels and options, he just wasn't sure. It seemed so easy to everyone else, but to him, it felt like something was missing. Gabriel thought Nathan was absolutely perfect. Sweet, funny, sexy, and completely confused about what he desired; but absolutely perfect.

I really didn't know what to think of Nathan except a few words: sweet, inquisitive, and ANNOYINGLY TALKATIVE!!! I mean geez! He has such an ADHD problem that I wanted to scream! I wish we could've gotten out of his head more. It was just so exhausting to listen to. I just kept screaming "You are cute but please shut up!"
Sorry I just had to get that out my system. So Nathan completely embraces the lifestyle and jumps in head first. The personality of Nathan is little naive and very passionate but things that he wants. He is the very human version of a real puppy, I mean if the author would've said he was a real puppy then I definitely would have believed it.
Gabriel is perfect for Nathan. He is the perfect roommate, friend and Dom. I love when Gabriel would say, "One word, Oatmeal." lol. Gabriel is also be very protective and caring of Nathan. Some might misunderstand their relationship but it is just him trying to care for Nathan who wants and needs the extra attention.
I still have a few hours to go but I definitely need a drink to finish this book. Nathan is just exhausting.

When I started listening to it I thought this book was going to be corny but man was I wrong. this book has action and romance and a little suspense. Finn was a main character who I felt was the underdog and constantly had to prove himself to his team but in the end lovable fan couldn't help but be loved by his teammates. The book shows you Finn's up and down moments and I swear that boy could not stay out of trouble to save his life. Victoria had me so many emotional turns, but I still wish there was a part 2 to listen to. If you have read or listened to the Thirds series then you know how similar the stories are, however it still doesn't take away from this one. I will definitely be listening to more of her books and hopefully more books of hers become audiobooks due to my busy schedule.

I thought that these men were the sweetest men and I would have loved to be able to know them personally. There were moments in this story where I just laughed out loud and then there were moments where I cheered them on. Overall, this is a must buy.
