Brutal
Reviewed: 10-03-24
The book is very graphic, and brutal. The narrator is outstanding, especially on male voices. His females could use a bit of work, but over all, he brings the characters to life, in particular, James Reece.. The narrator also does accents well.. Especially the African dialects.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Disturbingly Graphic
Reviewed: 10-24-22
I didn't even make it to chapter three because it is so disturbingly graphic. This book is halfway into the FBI Profiler series, and they switched the female narrator, and added a male one. Neither are a good fit. I rarely return books, but this one is going right back. I hope that the next book will recap what went on with Kimberly and Mack. But, even if they don't I will have no regrets by not finishing this one.

This was VERY GRAPHIC, even when compared to other books in the series. I had to fast forward through some of it, and I NEVER do. that. Still a good tie-in to the FBI Profiler stories.
