Story
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Beautiful
Reviewed: 10-24-24
This book was beautiful. I normally read fluffy happy go lucky books but this kept popping up on my suggested. It was worth it. What a beautiful story about ptsd and the strong women who were never given gratitude.
Thank you to the author for such a wonderful book and the women who served.

Story
If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, but now she’s standing in her ‘shine like a star’ nightie in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen. And he’s smiling at her. As they start to chat, everything else becomes background noise. That is until someone comes running out of a door, yelling something about a huge mistake, and sends the dreamy stranger back down to earth. And here Delphie was thinking her luck might be different in the afterlife.

The twists in this book were wonderful. You want to root for the lead so bad but she is just so committed. The final love story makes sense and does not feel halfway put together.
Definitely one I will reread.

Story
Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Story
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Story
Siobhan is a quick-tempered life coach with way too much on her plate. Miranda is a tree surgeon used to being treated as just one of the guys on the job. Jane is a soft-spoken volunteer for the local charity shop with zero sense of self-worth. These three women are strangers who have only one thing in common: They’ve all been stood up on the same day, the very worst day to be stood up—Valentine’s Day. And, unbeknownst to them, they’ve all been stood up by the same man.

Its fun and yes, it has politics.

Anyone complaining about the politics, it is literally in the description.
***technically, spoilers ahead.
It sucks that you don't think it is your responsibility to worry about climate change and how people handle education budgets but that speaks of you as a person.
-The book
The book is fun and flirty. The main character can get a bit whiny and extra at times, but Logan is the man. He definitely put his cards out early on. I love the build-up to, yes, it is almost at the end, but 100% worth it for the story. The supporting characters were great and I would love some spin off prequels.

I couldn't wait to finish. Loathed the main character. She was just awful and the most selfish character of any book I've ever read. I love most CoHo books, but this was a hard no. do not recommend it. I avoided it because it had a teenager as a main character, but then I read November 9 and figured, why not? Huge mistake.
