Story
Out there is chaos, the collapse of society, and so much to be afraid of. All that matters is freedom. That’s what Remy Blake has been taught by his survivalist father. Raised off the grid in the middle of nowhere, his own survival skills not yet honed, Remy is days shy of his eighth birthday when his father unexpectedly dies. As seasons pass, supplies run out, and fending for himself grows more desperate, Remy sets out on foot, unprepared for the great unknown of civilization.

Such a touching and emotional book. I can not describe this book. You will have to see for yourselves. i can only say that it is beautiful and touching. It grabs you in right from the beginning and you will never want to put it down. Even after you finish, you will need a couple of days to absorb it and get over it. Such a great read. Thank you Catherine Ryan Hyde for writing this.

Story
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

An entertaining memoir
Reviewed: 09-21-21
This book is a memoir, a story about a person from the subject’s perspective. If you want to know about Matthew McConaughey, learn about his experiences and his rise to stardom, then read this book. You’ll probably have some aha moments, laugh a little, be entertained by his adventures and learn how he accomplished his goals. It’s not sugar coated, it’s not political, it’s not the Bible. It’s a fast, entertaining and introspective read about his life and philosophies. I’m assuming the people who wrote the negative reviews have never read a memoir.

Action and romance
Reviewed: 08-12-20
Action and romance surround serious topic. I liked how the story developed and secrets were revealed. Some of the circumstances are a bit unbelievable. But the quick action and suspense worked through it.
