Story
America is under attack. Thousands lie dead after simultaneous strikes across the country. The day will come to be known as Bloody Monday. Jason Trapp, codename ‘Hangman’, was a covert operative whose feats became the stuff of legend. He was the tip of the spear—the man his country unleashed when all hope was lost. Six months ago, someone sold him out. The Agency listed him as killed in action. He lost everything—and everyone—he held dear. But Trapp’s not that easy to kill.

Very Anticlimactic
Reviewed: 06-03-24
I really wanted to like this book - even stuck with it till the very end. But, I just didn't like it. There were far too many characters and the storyline constantly jumped around. And far too many repetitive descriptions. And very very anticlimactic. Overall disappointing.

Story
It’s the year 2000, and while Bunny McGarry is theoretically on sabbatical from the police, he just can’t help sticking his nose in where it doesn’t belong. Rosie Flint is an old acquaintance of Bunny’s whose boyfriend mysteriously disappears off the face of the Earth. What starts out as a simple missing person’s case soon gets a whole lot more complicated when it emerges that the boyfriend is not who he claimed to be, and there are some rather sinister people showing an unhealthy interest in Rosie.

Story
Retired publisher Susan Ryeland is living the good life. She is running a small hotel on a Greek island with her long-term boyfriend Andreas. It should be everything she's always wanted. But is it? She's exhausted with the responsibilities of making everything work on an island where nothing ever does, and truth be told, she's beginning to miss London. And then the Trehearnes come to stay. The strange story they tell about an unfortunate murder that took place on the same day and in the same hotel in which their daughter was married fascinates Susan and piques her editor's instincts.

The book within a book concept of 'Moonflower Murders' and 'Magpie Murders' is absolutely brilliant. Thank you, Anthony Horowitz for such a unique twist on a who-dun-it. Fabulous characters come to life by excellent narrators. I could not stop listening!

As with all Vera Stanhope books, I absolutely loved the story of Harbour Street. However, the narrator was disappointing. Her male voices were grating and Vera's voice was annoying. But I continued on because the story is so good!

I cannot adequately express how much I love this series. I have listened to the trilogy through twice - that's how much I love it. Rarely do fiction books spur you to be a better Christian and encourage you to love people more deeply with the love of Christ - this series does just that.

Story
Here is the kind of authentically detailed epic novel that has become Louis L’Amour’s hallmark. It is the compelling story of US Air Force major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness.
