Story
Annie Bot was created to be the perfect girlfriend for her human owner Doug. Designed to satisfy his emotional and physical needs, she has dinner ready for him every night, wears the pert outfits he orders for her, and adjusts her libido to suit his moods. True, she’s not the greatest at keeping Doug’s place spotless, but she’s trying to please him. She’s trying hard. She’s learning, too.

Narrator, Jennifer Jill Araya was spectacular! Listened to the entire book in one day. I’ll be listening to this again. Just stunning. Dialogue natural, Annie’s internal thoughts felt like a secret. Sierra Greer is a genius with dialogue, feelings. Uncomfortable, suspenseful. Amazing!

How could anyone be this lucky, failing up over and over again. It’s depressing but so well researched many details I have never read reported. I’ll listen for a 2nd time just to digest the vast amount of monies lost. Staggering.

Story
Abducted from a land of wealth and privilege, Dae is chained to a slaver's caravan crossing the vast Jaharri desert. It is a strange world of blistering sun, rolling dunes, and wind-carved plains, ruled by the Scion Zafirah Al'Intisar, a powerful and mysterious woman with seductive eyes of sapphire blue. When Zafirah liberates the caravan the rescue Dae prayed for is not as it seems; Zafirah's carnal appetite is legendary. Dae is taken into Zafirah's harem, a decadent world of excess and sexual freedom.

When Jezebel learns she can't be a king like her father simply because she’s a girl, she vows never to become someone’s decorative wife, nameless and lost to history. At fifteen she’s married off, despite her protests, to Prince Ahab of Israel. There, she does what she must to gain power and remake the dry and distant kingdom in the image of her beloved, prosperous seaside homeland of Tyre, beginning by building temples to the gods she grew up worshipping. As her initiatives usher in an era of prosperity for Israel, her new subjects love her, and her name rings through the land.

While it took me longer to finish this audio book. I tend to binge. A few day to one week on average. Roots does drag in more than a few places. Take a break. But come back to it. Haley’s descriptions are devastating, as they should be. It’s an American classic. The narrator is fantastic!
