Having worked in mission ops for human spaceflight for over five years I can attest that this is a truly masterful blend of fiction and scientific fact. The story is captivating and the performance makes it even more so. This was a truly enjoyable and incredible listen.

Mary Roach continues to impress, while the narrator seemed to be yelling the words at me. Overall really quite good!

Where does Unwind rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Unwind was an interesting 'read.' There were a couple of times I was going to shut it off, but I decided to stick it through to the end. I don't know if there are sequels to this book, but I now I'd not listen to them if there are.

If you’ve listened to books by Neal Shusterman before, how does this one compare?

This was my first book by Mr. Shusterman.

What three words best describe Luke Daniels’s performance?

Mediocre, harsh, jarring.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes a whole person is not whole.

Any additional comments?

The performance of this book was quite off-putting. Although the voice work of the characters was expertly done, during the straight "narration" bits, it seemed Mr. Daniels was yelling the book at me with little-to-no emotion.

As for the story, if you can get over some of the (rather large) assumptions about politics and history, you'll probably find the story compelling.

Would you consider the audio edition of Deliverance to be better than the print version?

I would imagine that the audio book is better than the print version because Will Patton truly brings the narrator to life in a way I don't think many could do on their own.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ed's smart quips and ethereal observations easily lend him to be my favorite character.

Which scene was your favorite?

Even from the beginning, I was capitvated by the author's style. Any moment when he is describing a scene or setting up an emotion are simply beautiful. My favorite moment of the book was towards the beginning when I realized that I was looking forward to taking a canoe trip on Friday, as well as the characters.

If you could take any character from Deliverance out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Louis - he seems like an entertaining dinner guest.

Any additional comments?

The narrator, Will Patton, has delivered a truly mesmerizing performance, breathing life not only into the characters, but to River itself. Truly a masterpiece.
