Story
You've lost your job as a department store lingerie buyer, your car's been repossessed, and most of your furniture and small appliances have been sold off to pay last month's rent. Now the rent is due again. And you live in New Jersey. What do you do? If you're Stephanie Plum, you become a bounty hunter. But not just a nickel-and-dime bounty hunter, you go after the big money. That means a cop gone bad. And not just any cop. She goes after Joe Morelli, a disgraced former vice cop who is also the man who took Stephanie's virginity at age sixteen and then wrote the details on a bathroom wall.

Great story, horrible narration
Reviewed: 10-26-21
I‘be read the first 15 or so of these books years ago. I don’t have time to read now so I use audible. The narrator is horrible, one of the worst I’ve heard. She gives unnaturally long pauses after every couple sentences and her different characters are pretty similar to each other. I got through this book but I don’t know if I can bring myself to try listening to the 2nd book.

Story
J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood novels have introduced readers/listeners to a "different, creative, dark, violent, and flat-out amazing" (All About Romance) world. Now, as the vampire warriors defend their race against their slayers, one male's loyalty to the Brotherhood will be tested - and his dangerous mixed blood revealed.

One of the best in the series

Lover Avenged is one of the best in the series so far. But the editing was horrible. The worst editing I’ve ever listened to. It’s good this isn’t the first in the series because the poor edits were so jarring I would have stopped after a few chapters.

Story
In New York, there's a troll under the Brooklyn Bridge, a boggle in Central Park, and a beautiful vampire in a penthouse on the Upper East Side. Of course, most humans are oblivious to this, but Cal Leandros is only half-human. His father's dark lineage is the stuff of nightmares - and he and his entire otherworldly race are after Cal.

Great story, bad performance

I have read & listened to all the books in this series, one of my favorites. The narrator for Nightlife is not good at all but all the rest of the books have an excellent narrator. The series is really good so either get through Nightlife quickly (or even better read it) then enjoy the rest of the series
