Story
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce—and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So: we fight. To defend Earth, and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding. Earth itself is a backwater.

And it is a good flavor kind of grown up, humorous, a little mind, expanding with the science, but overall, a very good book.

Story
Armon Ellington died on Earth and was transported to Terra, a world governed by rules eerily similar to the RPG games he loved. In addition to finding a way to become more powerful, he also found the friends and family he’d always longed for. Unfortunately, he also discovered the pain of losing them. Now, Armon finally has the information he’s been searching for. He knows where the kidnapped kobolds that the Imperare took are. A city deep in the heart of the Imperare Empire and a place renowned for its gladiatorial arenas.

it turned bad in the end.
Reviewed: 11-05-24
I was all good with the pace of the story up until the end. The story line was even good up to that point then it turned into a rip off story line. I mean it could be a fun pop culture inclusion if it was mentioned in passing or in a montage but it's not. its a focus. it's just lazy. It takes the whole story into the rubbish bin.

I thought I was destined for an early grave. Apparently, fate had other plans for me. My name is Jake. After twenty-three years of life, all I have to my name is a dead-end job and an undiagnosed metabolic disorder that has the doctors baffled. Everything changed on my birthday when I found a magical key that followed me home. It led me to the Halls of Magic, a multiversal repository of arcane knowledge that will allow me the chance to cure my broken body and unlock arcane power.

look, I like a fantasy as much as any other. this one could be better. I don't know how but it just feels like it's missing something. Maybe smoothing out the story left a few low spots? I'll keep an eye out for the rest as it's a good start. I like the premise and how the story is shaping up. I hope the irl and the labyrinth aspects feel a bit more complete.

good book good time sink to escape. but this one reinforces my theory of 3 book series. it takes a master to take a series beyond 3 books. the good and better then good authors can break into 4 titles in a series but interest is lost beyond that. repetitive dialog and over reinforcement of the plot arch usually shine in the forth. I'm just glad the narrator is as good as he his. but hay, maybe other series titles are better with out being pocket diggers. not like this one is but there are some authors who do. so Seth watch out. don't be roped into the Kong category. your better then that.

So I have not totally compiled all of my thoughts on this one. What I do think about it is it's a good book. I have listened to all of the other ones. And the storyline continues. The up approach that's taken to this one. In a pretty good space. Opera genre takes into account a different mindset.
It really shows the difference ways. People do things it's just not your normal. Shoot him up, fly across the stars. Meet this funky thing. Kill it, friend it or screw it. Type of book.
I don't know. There's just something about it. That really clicks with me and my recommendation. Is there anyone that says OK? Ay maybe to give it a shot. Oh, side note the voice acting of the narrator and the whispering low tones part.
It doesn't add to it, but it does make you kinda wonder what he's trying to do. He's got a good voice But not every actor needs a niche. Sometimes your voice just is.

Story
Separated as a child from his family, Theo has always had a feeling that he’s made for something bigger than the suburban life he seems to be headed for. When a bully threatens his best friend, he can’t help but step in the way. The problem is that Theo’s just not much of a fighter. Bruised and broken, Theo wakes up to a massive headache and what appears to be floating game text inviting him to become a dragon. While ludicrous, no matter how often he rejects the prompt, it simply returns. Knowing that his life can’t get any worse, he finally accepts...

So this book is a lit RP. G. And I do like it Zoe point system progression. And some combat mechanics can get kind of tedious and repetitive. If you can get through that, they're a really good story. The narrator did a really good job. Oh I could see this as a multicaast Narration. This title is a lot better than most. it does not come across. As a thirteen year old wrote it. There is a little bit of romantic suspense. There is no spicy scenes in this book which I like. Because that's not the type of book it is. And it does draw you in as the book goes on. I'm kind of looking forward to the second one..

Story
Alright, no need to panic. Instead of never waking from my crash, I found myself relocated. Before the accident, I was a woman in her late 20s, working as a mid-level banker who was a rising star destined for greatness. I had a propensity to dress fancy, savor my yearnings for both sexes, and I enjoyed a pretty pampered life which made my transition onto a fantasy world a bit tenuous.

ok so this is an odd book for a guy to pick up. I was hoping for I don't know what. but the whole thing came together rather well. this did not lean an any direction as far as "G" or "L" or any other of the lettered orientations. the action is good the knee jerk skills of survival seem like plot armor but remember the beginning of the story things were changed modified and stuff. over all it's nice I hope this review gets more people past the title and past the cover as some say in libraries

Ben clocked in and clocked out, living a dreary life until a rip of energy caught his attention. Of course, interfering with the spell proved disastrous and he's sucked into a portal. On Semintor, the fantastical exists alongside wondrous magic. Ben arrives with a massive advantage thanks to his tinkering with the portal that got him there: his Arcana—his ability to cast powerful magic—are downright godly. The man is capable of casting group heals, buffing all sorts of attributes, and more, making him a highly sought after spellcaster, a rare dedicated supporting healer.

the writing is better then most in this genre. but the story line is not very clear nore is anything deeper then the caricature sheet when it comes to the MC. its frustrating, you can't have an adventure if the MC can't make a decision. frustrating to the point im not sure the next one will grab one of my credits.

Thus, he begins his adventure, seeking a shattered sword and the truth behind the mysterious mark on his right hand.

Odd perspective
Reviewed: 11-27-23
I'll start with the narration. it was good, on point with the different voices to help the story along. As for the story.... to be nice it was a bit long winded. The perspective is a first person talking to someone that assuming knows not much of the world there in. The part that pulled me out of the story was the over explanation of mundane things that only seemed to up the word count. Providing no good things to the story arch. the world was good and caricatures well done. it was just the writing style that bugged me in the end.
