Story
Evie is happiest when she is healing people, diagnosing symptoms and prescribing medications, with the help of her devoted friend (and test subject) Wormy. So when Wormy unexpectedly proposes to her, she kindly turns him down; she has far too much to do to be marrying anyone. And besides, she simply isn’t in love with him.

Great Companion Novel for Ella Enchanted fans
Reviewed: 11-12-20
I truly enjoyed this companion novel to Ella Enchanted! It’s made the Ella Enchanted book now seem more full and robust. I will be re-reading Ella Enchanted again! Ogre Enchanted is a really good read and I was very happy with the story.

Story
Ella of Frell wants nothing more than to be free of Lucinda's gift of obedience and feel that she belongs to herself. For how can she truly belong to herself if she knows that at any time, anyone can order her to hop on one foot, cut off her hand, or betray her kingdom, and she'll have to obey?

My favorite story of all time ...
Reviewed: 09-26-15
This is my favorite story of all time. Ella's courage and spunk despite her curse gives the reader the desire to cheer her on in her journey despite all the odds! This is a funny, wonderful, romantic, realistic, MAGICAL quick read and great when I want to reminisce and read a sweet romance. This story is a favorite of mine to give as gifts and I buy a paper copy every time I find a book with the original cover. (I'm not a fan of the movie nor when they added Anne Hathaway to the covers of new book prints. The movie is NOTHING like the book and is a paltry attempt to recapture Gail Carson Levine's magical writings.) If you have never read this book before the audible version is ... ok (readers voice is really high pitched and she struggles with men's voices), but it is nothing like reading the paperback version and getting a chance to read Ella's letters in person, for example. The writer puts different fonts for different character's handwriting and smudges and misspellings when she mentions them in the book. It captures the characters' essences and personalities PERFECTLY and makes for a compelling read. Its difficult to put this book down and I am sad every time the book is done. A lot of the time I will start it again because I hate for it to be over.... That is the sign of a great book! Seriously, I cannot say this with more stress, this is an amazing book and I hope you read it and enjoy it as much as I do.

Story
The quest was over. The Orb of Aldur was restored. And once again, with the crowning of Garion, there was a descendant of Riva Iron-grip to rule as Overlord of the West. And yet the prophecy was unfulfilled. In the east, the evil god Torak was about to awaken and seek dominion. Somehow, Garion had to face the god, to kill or be killed. On the outcome of that dread duel rested the destiny of the world.

This is one of my favorite series of all time. I have great memories of my father reading this series every year or so to my two siblings and I. It holds great memories for me and it's one of the best reads of my life.
