There are books that touch you in such a way that is so visceral and only emotions can convey the connection. READ THIS BOOK!
Tears of pain, sadness, injustice, happiness, forgiveness, and unconditional love will flow continuously.
Although the book is not about my specific community- this is a story about women and girls in all communities. Powerful and full of hope! At the same time full of frustration, longing, invisibility, grief, and anger. This is a book about strong t try women who carry the weight of the world on their backs and in their hearts.

Story
The Poisonwood Bible is a story told by the wife and four daughters of Nathan Price, a fierce, evangelical Baptist who takes his family and mission to the Belgian Congo in 1959. They carry with them everything they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it - from garden seeds to Scripture - is calamitously transformed on African soil. What follows is a suspenseful epic of one family’s tragic undoing and remarkable reconstruction over the course of three decades in postcolonial Africa.
