This was the most amazing and heart wrenching story about the Vietnam Nam War. Like the author, I was in junior high and high school while this war was raging and being protested. I attended several funerals for my friends’ brothers during that time. I was amazed about how the women were treated when they returned and that they were told that there were no women in Vietnam Nam. I grew up to be a RN and had a head nurse who was a MASH nurse with the Air Force. I wish I had known more, especially as this story portrayed, so I could have appreciated and acknowledged her service more. I recently saw a drink coaster at a friend’s house that said, “Home of the Free, Because of the Brave”…. Thank you Kristin for writing such an accurate and beautiful story about one of America’s most tragic wars which I found educational and enlightening and increased my appreciation for all the men and women who fought and died there, and, for those who now continue to valiantly protect us and our country.

I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging story about truths withheld by all the characters and how they all overcame their hurts and the growth they experienced with each other.

I love Carolyn Brown’s stories. Everyone I’ve read has been a joy to read. I’ll keep reading them as long as she continues to write them.

Another great story by Beth read by Jenna. I was taken away to the colorful world of the Savannah and the loving characters who saved CeeCee.

I loved the reader. Her voice was so great to listen to. Great story; was sad when it ended as so perfectly written.

I found the characters and stories interesting and sad. It was difficult to follow the time lines of the story because it would talk about characters dying and the the next chapter or chapters would relay stories about the ones who were previously told as having died. So, I felt disoriented a lot during the reading of the book. The reader was excellent with the story telling.
