Story
Mossa has returned to Valdegeld on a missing persons case, for which she’ll once again need Pleiti’s insight. Seventeen students and staff members have disappeared from Valdegeld University—yet no one has noticed. The answers to this case may lie on the moon of Io—Mossa’s home—and the history of Jupiter’s original settlements during humanity’s exodus from Earth. But Pleiti’s faith in her life’s work as a scholar of the past has grown precarious, and this new case threatens to further destabilize her dreams for humanity’s future, as well as her own.

I gave up after the first chapter which was as exciting as a room full of accountants. The author can’t hold the reader’s attention and s in need of an editor to remove all of the pointless details

Story
When Russ Wesley finds an unusual artifact in his grandfather’s collection of rare antiquities, the last thing he expects is for it to draw the attention of a ferocious alien from a distant planet. Equally surprising is the adventurous team of intergalactic exterminators dispatched to deal with the alien threat. They’re a little wild, and a little reckless. Worse yet, they’re so impressed with Russ’s marksmanship that they insist he join their squad . . . whether he wants to or not.

Great after the introductory fluff chapters

I recommend skipping the first few chapters which tell us what AI is and why it’s important and get straight into the practical chapters which are pleasantly succinct, thoughtful, and practical.

Story
Imperial Intelligence couldn"t find them, the Imperial Fleet couldn"t catch them, and local defenses couldn"t stop them. It seemed the planet-wrecking pirates were invincible. But they made a big mistake when they raided ex-commando leader Alicia DeVries" quiet home/work, tortured and murdered her family, and then left her for dead. Alicia decided to turn "pirate" herself, and stole a cutting-edge AI ship from the empire to start her vendetta. Her fellow veterans think she"s gone crazy, the Imperial Fleet has shoot-on-sight orders. And, of course, the pirates want her dead, too.
