Story
Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

Loved the development of characters, the complex, but followable, mystery and all round storyline. Felt like flawless transitions from the first book to the last. The performance absolutely brought it all together.

Within hours of cutting the cast off her arm with a bone saw, she's asked by her former mentor to assist on a body recovery. Now she's elbow deep in decomposing human remains and a suspicious death that hits far too close to home. Perfect follow up to Book 1
Reviewed: 06-20-24
Brilliant follow up to the first book of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, fun twists and further development of relationships between all the different characters. The narration was on point and brought it all together perfectly. Can't wait to start the next book, but sad to start the last book.

Story
Corey Curtis is coasting. At 33, she's in the best shape of her life and has a satisfying position at Jackson City Memorial Hospital. With a good paycheck, great friends, and occasional relationships with smart, beautiful women, she couldn't be happier. She thinks. Dr. Thayer Reynolds, whiling away some time before the start of her Emergency Department fellowship at JCMH and intrigued by the stories she's heard, crashes the morgue to get a look at Corey - the woman her young colleagues are whispering about.

Story
Neve Blackthorne, head of one of the most successful Studios in Hollywood, is the one to rule them all. Powerful, beautiful, and aloof, she's ruthless, yet irresistible. Above all, she has an unquenchable survival instinct. Surely a fleeting entanglement with one Audrey Avens, a bright, young, rising star in her company, won't bring down the Wicked Queen of Tinseltown. Or will it? Neve's public persona has no chink in the untouchable armor, but when the lights go out and the cameras stop rolling, what becomes of an Ice Queen whose heart is ruled by love and fear?

Thoroughly enjoyable, messy and maddening.

The chosen voices for some of the characters were not my favorite. Audrey and Freya mostly, but I'm a big fan of the narrator. I found it to be an enjoyable journey of back and forth between 2 people that thankfully includes some personal growth by those who needed it and therefore could have a believable happy ending to the book.
