Story
Judith Potts is 77 years old and blissfully happy. She lives on her own in a faded mansion just outside Marlow, there’s no man in her life to tell her what to do or how much whisky to drink, and to keep herself busy she sets crosswords for The Times newspaper. One evening, while out swimming in the Thames, Judith witnesses a brutal murder. The local police don’t believe her story, so she decides to investigate for herself and is soon joined in her quest by Suzie, a salt-of-the-earth dog-walker, and Becks, the prim and proper wife of the local vicar.

The only negative review I have is the Death of Adalle and Wolfric. The action , storyline, and characters was believable. This is the 1st book I have listen to by Simon Vance or by author Duncan Hamilton. I will look for more by both of them . …. On to the next Epic book.

I enjoy this book. I love John Bude writing style. Only fault I have is that I figured out who the murder was about halfway through the book. The only thing was the murder weapon had me stamp.

I love the storyline of an independent female. I would have enjoyed it more if a different narrator was reading the box. If there are anymore books in this series, I pray that a different narrator be chosen. One who can do various voices and characters.

Several years have passed since the apprentice and his master, Will and Halt, first met, and Will is finally a full-fledged Ranger with his own fief to look after. The fief seems sleepy - boring, even - until Lord Syron, master of a castle far in the north, is struck down by a mysterious illness. Joined by his friend Alyss, Will is suddenly thrown headfirst into an extraordinary adventure, investigating fears of sorcery and trying to determine who is loyal to Lord Syron.

Narrator sucks in book 5, “The Sorcerer of the North “
Reviewed: 03-13-23
I love this series a lot, but I was disappointed with the narrator, Stuart Blinder. I made myself suffer through the listening so I can get to the next book which will be read but John Keating the original narrator. I cringed whenever he did the female characters. All the 2ndary characters sound like same, male or female . The voice he gave the Skandia sailors was ridiculous and immature. If John was not going to be the narrator for the rest of the series I would have not continue listening and save my credits. Sorry I couldn’t do 5 stars, like I did for the previous books.

Story
When the quaint English town of York hosts a Jane Austen Society conference, bookseller Erin Coleridge is glad to get out of Kirkbymoorside for a while—until featured speaker Barry Wolf suddenly perishes from what appears to be a heart attack. Erin is suspicious, since Barry had no history of heart disease. But who did him in? Was it the decedent's assistant, Stephen, who was observed chatting to Barry's young wife Luca earlier that night? Might it have been Barry's ex-wife Judith, who was seen arguing with her erstwhile betrothed at the bar?

Annoying
Reviewed: 03-01-23
I was very excited with book one of this series. The main character has become annoying to me as I continue to listen to book 2. She gets to involve in the investigation and put herself in danger without any consideration for people feelings. She omit vital information from the police and justify her action. Maybe if she had shared her info with the police 2 other people would’ve not been killed. I don’t know if I will be reading anymore books in this series.

Story
Erin Coleridge's used bookstore in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, England, is a meeting place for the villagers and, in particular, for the local Jane Austen Society. At the Society's monthly meeting, matters come to a head between the old guard and its young turks. After the meeting breaks for tea, persuasion gives way to murder with extreme prejudice when president Sylvia Pemberthy falls dead to the floor. Poisoned? Presumably, but by whom? And was Sylvia the only target?
