Story
Lady Theodosia Balfour has certainly gotten the short end of the stick—her stepsister, the newly crowned Princess Beatrice, is telling everyone in polite society that Theo, her sister, and their mother are evil, wicked, and horrid people who treated her like a slave. Though Theo knows this isn't exactly true, it seems her life is thoroughly ruined by the rumor. With the Balfour family estate on the verge of bankruptcy, Theo's only path forward is a forced betrothal to the Duke of Snowbell, a foul-tempered geezer who wishes only to use her as a brood mare for spare heirs.

Story
All sorcerers are evil. Elisabeth has known that as long as she has known anything. Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery - magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. If provoked, they transform into grotesque monsters of ink and leather. She hopes to become a warden, charged with protecting the kingdom from their power. Then an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire.

The story and world building may not be terribly complex, but like an amazing meal made from simple ingredients, the creativity it's in the combination. The action was high octane, the direction often surprised me; can't wait to read the next!

From Martin Clark - praised by Entertainment Weekly as "our best legal-thriller writer" - comes a wickedly clever, tenderhearted, and intricately plotted novel about a hard-luck lawyer's refusal to concede defeat, even as fate, the court system, and a gang of untouchable con artists conspire against him.

I got this book because I really enjoyed David Aaron Baker's performance with Odd Thomas. As I expected, he did an amazing job!
There were times where there were issues with the recording, lines would repeat, or there would be odd pauses. Definitely issues on the side of the person who put the whole thing together, but it only had a minor impact on the enjoyability of the story.
As for the story, it was my first law thriller, and I found it both easy to follow, and well crafted with familiar terms to make it so I didn't get lost in the law jargon. I really enjoyed all the characters, and the plot itself was fantastic! It seriously had twists and turns that made me paranoid the entire way. I was scared for Lawyer Kevin at every new character addition!

Story
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Chalk full of humor, and an unfiltered realism

Trevor Noah recounts his life growing up during apartheid in South Africa. The really amazing thing is how alive and rich the narrative is. You feel like you're really there like you're experiencing part of the culture. He never sacrifices the story by hiding things he might be ashamed of. It was so much better than anything I could have dreamed this would be.

Story
This is the story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world - and did. Is he a destroyer or a liberator? Why does he fight his hardest battle not against his enemies, but against the woman he loves? Tremendous in scope, breathtaking in its suspense, Atlas Shrugged is Ayn Rand's magnum opus and launched an ideology and a movement. With the publication of this work in 1957, Rand gained an instant following and became a phenomenon.

Great story! Long, but worth it.

Besides a slight and occasional audio issue (there appears to be either bleeding in from another recording, or an echo from this recording) the performance on this was spectacular. The narrator, Christopher Hurt, does a great job capturing the voices, attitudes, and inflections of the age.
The story is long, but I wouldn't call it drawn out - everything had a purpose in the story's grand design.
All around great writing and performing, great turn of phrase, and an amazing job keeping you hooked through 52hrs of audio!

Story
Every so often a character so captures the hearts and imaginations of listeners that he seems to take on a life of his own long after the final chapter. For such a character, one book is not enough—listeners must know what happens next. Now Dean Koontz returns with the novel his fans have been demanding. With the emotional power and sheer storytelling artistry that are his trademarks, Koontz takes up once more the story of a unique young hero and an eccentric little town in a tale that is equal parts suspense and terror, adventure and mystery—and altogether irresistibly odd.

David Aron Baker is Odd Thomas for me. if he doesn't read one of them, I'll have to pick up a hard copy and read it in his voice.
Story-wise it was another thrilling adventure. As with the first, there was a tad too much sexual talk, although never to untasteful or belligerent levels, and never outside of what makes sense for the characters or the story.
