Story
Like everyone else in Palm Springs, Gish idolizes her smart, beautiful, kind older sister. Even their parents compare Gish unfavorably to Gloria—threatening to send her to boarding school once the more perfect sister leaves for college.

I"m sickened
Reviewed: 01-14-23
I miss the Andrews so much. this book at the end of it I almost threw up while I was bawling I am pissed that we don"t get to know exactly what happened that really pisses me off I don"t like that at all. it triggered me a lot because of all of the mental illnesses that I see in this family. I mean all of BC Andrews families have mental illness but new age now oh gosh I can"t talk about it it makes me so sick I just think it was sadly real. s*** like this happens too much in real life. insane that"s all I can say this book was crazy and I wish I hadn"t read it

Story
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

I related so much. I love how she goes into detail so nonchalantly. it really lets you into how numb she was to everything. so glad she is finding herself! she"s amazing!
