This was a really cute, short story. I really enjoyed the narration of both narrators. I think this was my first book by this author and I will be looking for more because her writing was very entertaining with a great flow and good charcharacter dialogue. I highly recommend this book.

Now this was an amazing performance and I'm so happy woth the performance of the narrators. I will say this female narrator kept giving the side women characters a British accent that came from left field, but overall I enjoyed this performance much more than book 1. I've page read the entire series, so I know the storyline is worth it. Before Cemone's story, I forgot how much I loved LeQuay's. He's so swoon worthy like his Pops, Prime!

It seems she just can't catch a break, until she meets him.

I really wish the narrator was better

I absolutely loved this story! I didn't care for the audio all that much. The female narrator was new to me and it honestly sounds like she was new to narrating. if I didn't already know the story was worth it, I probably wouldn't have finished it. there was no life in the narration. everything was stilted and the words were super choppy. The male narrator did a really good job and pretty much carried the performance for me.

Story
Born and raised in Atlanta by a father who blames the family rift on music, Amara Johnson’s talent for guitar and passion for poetry have always been just that: talent and passion that she channels into her work as a music teacher. When her estranged grandfather—a man known as much for his raspy, soulful blues songs as his perplexing personality—passes away, Amara discovers a collection of old letters, journals, and a tattered photo that offer more questions than answers.

Definitely read like a movie!

This story read like a movie. I really enjoyed it and the performances by the narrators were great but I think Benjamin Charles goes down too low and it gives off a sound that doesn't vibe with the characters. His regular narrating voice is great, but when he's "acting" as the character he goes off the rails, in my opinion.
overall, both narrators did great and really brought this story to life.

Story
To young Neeka Perry, Denny is one thing. In the streets, he's a whole other entity. She was brave enough to love both sides, upside down, all around, and back again. He provided her with all a girl could believe she dreamed of—security, desire, and, most enviably, genuine love, all wrapped up in gold and diamonds. He removed her far from the course of her ordinary college girl lifestyle and swept her into his world of whimsical madness. For this and more, her love went beyond loyalty. She was devout… devout to him. But is there such a thing as too much passion? Can you love someone too much?

I will admit, I was more excited to hear Winston bring Denny to life in my anticipation of this audio release. imagine my surprise when Ms. Morae Brehon absolutely bodied this entire performance! She brought this stories to life in such an amazing way. Now don't get me wrong, WJ ain't no slouch, He definitely did his thing, but fir some reason, I didn't remember Ty having so many POV's in book 1.
Hearing this story play out touched me in such a different way than when I read it. Even though I knew what to expect, these narrators helped make the story fresh. They both did a brilliant job. Takerra Allen never misses and every story is highly recommended by me.

Although it does seem like nothing was really resolved in this installment of the Butterfly series, that couldn't be further from the truth. There has been so much growth for these characters...some more than others, but overall, I am loving the progression of them all. I've already reviewed the story so I'll stick to this amazing performance by Nicole Small! Whew! she brought this story to LIFE!
She always makes me feel something different that what I feel when I read the story myself. This was an incredible journey and I can't wait for what's next.

Story
Childhood neighbors, enemies, best friends, lovers, enemies, Sires lineman Terrence Ford and his ex-wife, Krystle, have meant all these things to each other. Once believing their union was indestructible, they find themselves unhappily apart. Maybe what they see as an ending is really the beginning of a stronger bond and a deeper understanding of what love really is.

Story
Motherhood isn’t easy, especially when you’re a mother of a Black son. Ten years ago, Cheryl jumped at the chance to send her son, Javonte, to an exclusive boarding school in New England - far away from Atlanta and the violence of the city streets. It was the American dream, or was it? Now settled in Vermont, Javonte is married and well-employed, but Cheryl hardly ever sees him, and when she does, her own son seems like someone she only used to know.

This short story was an ok read. I did not connect really to any part of it or the characters. I think I'm more disappointed because I had such high expectations. I love both Gabrielle Union and Tayari Jones, but this just wasn't really entertaining for me. I actually finished it feeling very unfulfilled because I don't understand the purpose of the story and if anything was resolved.
