One woman's journey to finish what she started...Deep down, in a part of her that she thought she'd grown out of, Rebecca had always dreamt of becoming an author someday. With hangovers no longer holding her back - with eyes wide open and nowhere to hide - can she find the courage to confront her secret lifelong dream? i liked Rebecca's first book but this was hours and hours of listening to every detail of her writing that book. It would be like me writing a book about me painting a house. Why would she think this is an interesting story? she included so much unnecessary detail. i guess it was the only way she could make this story into a book. This was one of those books you grit your teeth thru just trying to finish it. i don't often write reviews but I had to write this one to save some else from wasting their time. sorry Rebecca but but what you think is so cute and witty becomes very annoying quickly. Good job on being sober though. i myself am 2 years sober. and good job on your 1st book, just not so much this one.

Story
Fifteen million Americans a year are plagued with alcoholism. Five million of them are women. Many of them, like Caroline Knapp, started in their early teens and began to use alcohol as "liquid armor", a way to protect themselves against the difficult realities of life. In this extraordinarily candid and revealing memoir, Knapp offers important insights not only about alcoholism, but about life itself and how we learn to cope with it.
