Story
Smugglers. A kidnapping. A fire-breathing fairy dragon? The Blue Order is falling apart at the seams. After months in Bath mentoring Dragon Keepers and Friends, Dragon Sage Elizabeth Darcy actually anticipates traveling to London for the Keeper’s Cotillion. Which says a great deal considering the she-dragons who make up the Cotillion board would very much like to show the Sage her proper place. The she-dragons, though, are no match for what Sir Fitzwilliam Darcy finds waiting for him in London.

Great story, but terrible performance editing
Reviewed: 05-29-21
I deeply enjoy this story but the editing of the narration is awful. The repeated words and phrases as well as the snaps and claps in chapter 6 made this part especially painful to listen to, so much so that I nearly quit listening. Throughout the book there are repetitive phrases and words which are very annoying. I am sorry to say I will avoid this narrator in the future as she does not take care in making sure her work is edited. Very unprofessional.

Story
In this romance anthology, 10 Austenesque authors sketch Pride and Prejudice heroine Elizabeth Bennet's character through a collection of re-imaginings, set in the Regency through contemporary times. In Elizabeth: Obstinate, Headstrong Girl, she bares her most intimate thoughts, all the while offering biting social commentary about life’s absurdities. Elizabeth overcomes the obstacles of others’ opinions, not to mention her own flaws, to find a love truly worthy of her - her Mr. Darcy - all with humor and her sparkling charm.

Story
Many Christmas traditions and images of "old fashioned" holidays are based on Victorian celebrations. Going back just a little further, to the beginning of the 19th century, the holiday Jane Austen knew would have looked distinctly odd to modern sensibilities. Take a step into history with Maria Grace as she explores the traditions, celebrations, games and foods that made up Christmastide in Jane Austen's era. Packed with information and rich with detail from period authors, Maria Grace transports the listener to a longed-for old fashioned Christmas.

Jannie Meisberger wonderfully narrated this sweet Darcy ad Elizabeth story. I loved the cockney accent she used for the characters. It is a wonderful what if the Bennets owned a flower shop, and guess who is the landlord. To gain better clientele Elizabeth takes up Darcy on the offer to learn to speak proper English. Caroline and Wickham team up to try to discredit the Bennet sisters. I love how this story is told and narrated and recommend it for anyone who loves JAFF as well as My Fair Lady.

An impertinent stranger is thrown into Fitzwilliam Darcy's path and, even though he declares her tolerable but not handsome enough to tempt him, it is all he can do not to think of her. Upon first making Mr. Darcy's acquaintance, Miss Elizabeth Bennet is quite fascinated with him. Then she discovers that the gentleman is haughty and above his company, and she wants nothing to do with him.

I enjoyed this well written variation of Darcy and Elizabeth's story that begins when they first meet in Kent, while Elizabeth is visiting the Collins's. Pam Dixon keeps the characters true to canon. Pearl Hewitt's narration brings the characters and story to life. Each character's voice is distinct which makes the story so easy to listen to and she brings out their emotions perfectly. This is an enjoyable story and Pearl Hewitt's narration makes it enjoyable to listen to. I highly recommend the audio version of this story.

This updated story by P O Dixon is so well done. I was happy to be able to get this as a boxed set. Pearl Hewitt brought the characters to life with her distinct voices. She brought the story to life. Elizabeth's son, Ben, was so adorable. The story is a fun what if....What if Elizabeth was married, widowed, and has a son who first befriends Mr. Darcy; What if Elizabeth is expected to marry another (for her second husband) and Ben prefers Mr. Darcy over the other....This is a fun I listen that I highly recommend.
