Story
I wasn’t sure what to expect when arriving in Salem. Forced to marry a man I’ve never met, attend a private university I’d never heard of, and the whispers of a rumored secret society filling the halls. This life would be near unbearable with my insufferable fiancé if it wasn’t for his uncle, his best friend, and his enemy. When none of them are willing to let me go, it sends us down a path I’m not sure any of us will survive. The life I was promised is distorted behind smoke and mirrors. The truth cloaked by Deceit.

Amazing narration. FMC has no character development
Reviewed: 01-07-25
The fullcast duet narration made this story fun to listen to. And why choose/ reverse harems are my favorite stories. But sometimes this the FMC gets “lost” personality and character development-wise when the author is building up the men’s characters. All we know about her really is that she’s beautiful and she follows the rules of her father because she was sheltered. That’s it. I wish she was developed as a character in a way to make it believable that all these men would be so in love with her so fast. I hope there is more development on her in the next book.
Narration is top tier. I love every narrator and am always thankful to authors that recognize how important it is to choose duet or fullcast duet narration for your books. Sean masters is new to me and my goodness…that man has one hell of a sexy voice. They’re all great. I enjoyed the female narrator as well
The story was good and entertaining. Just want real character development to form to feel connections to them :)

Lots of new things introduced…felt rushed
Reviewed: 01-06-25
I’ve loved this series. Especially the voice actors and duet narration. The spicy scenes stared off great especially in book 2 and 3. Which made you believe that when they finally all came together it would be a well written “detailed” scene. Nothing is more annoying than a rushed (all over the place) spice scene. If all you can write is something along the lines of “we were all on her, hands and mouths all over the place” and have that be your description because you don’t know how to write 5 men in one scene in detail of where they are at and what they are doing to her….Just don’t write the scene at all. We want descriptions. I want to visualize who is where and doing exactly what at all times. I don’t want an overall feel. Boring and disappointing. And it started off great too. But I feel like the author only knows how to be descriptive when it’s 2 people. Even the threesomes were very boring in their descriptions. Bummer.
Spoilers from this point forward. The vampire thing was cool but was VERY rushed and anticlimactic. Being able to ride broomsticks. A little out of place. All of a sudden she’s a dragon rider? Cool ideas but everything in this book was rushed. And the building of the relationships just stopped completely.
I gave this story 4 stars because of the duet narration being so good and because the first 3 books were good. The end was more like 3.5 stars. But gave it the last half point because I did enjoy most of this series.
Why does every epilogue in every story have to end in babies? There are some many creative stories in the world and yet they ALL (even when it makes no sense at all to the story) have babies in the end. Sometimes we just want to live on the story and not think about when their lives become normal. I read to escape reality.
And why did she never hook up with Spencer’s werewolf side. There was so much foreshadowing for it. Don’t write the beast as sexual and wanting it with her if it’s not going to be incorporated. Just write the beast as someone who just wants to take care of her without sexual desire if it was never going to be part of the story.

Duet (not dual) narration)
Reviewed: 01-04-25
Thank you author for investing in your art and choosing Duet narration for your series. It makes a HUGE difference. I know it’s pricier venture for authors to choose duet or fullcast duet narration. But it IS a worthy investment. I promise. I found this series because I was looking for a new author and a duet narrated book. Now I am a fan for life. Such a great series. And the acting was top tier from both narrators. Having them only speak their parts kept me in the story. If it had been done in dual I honestly don’t think I would have enjoyed this series as much. So thank you thank you thank you. Can’t wait for the next book

Duet narration where man speaks only male parts. And female speaks only female parts. Best narration other than fullcast duet. Story was good. Not great. But definitely worth the credit

The first half is not difficult. It’s the second half that gets you. I need to know what happens next. I hope she kills every last one of them before the series is done. She deserves some revenge
Will the series ever be finished on audio?!?! Nothing worse than being an Audiobook listener to find out the story in incomplete on audio but finished in books. I don’t have time to read at all. The only way I’ll be able to finish this story is audio. So I’m hoping they will still get made at some point.

Story
I’m not attracted to men. Or so I thought before I slammed into Nikolai Sokolov. A mafia heir, a notorious bastard, and a violent monster. An ill-fated meeting puts me in his path. And just like that, he has his sights set on me. A quiet artist, a golden boy, and his enemy’s twin brother. He doesn’t seem to care that the odds are stacked against us. In fact, he sets out to break my steel-like control and blur my limits. I thought my biggest worry was being noticed by Nikolai. I’m learning the hard way that being wanted by this beautiful nightmare is much worse.

If you don’t want to read the whole series, just read this one. It’s SO good. Narrators deserve awards for their acting on this one. I enjoyed the whole series but the first 4 started to get repetitive. All the guy characters blended into the same guy when it was their story. All the girls blended into the same girl when it was their story. I recommend listening to them because all the books are good but if you don’t want to start getting bored give yourself a break and read other books in between each one. But this story was very refreshing. I love them. Such a great mm romance.

There was only one tiny part that didn’t make sense. When a certain person sent a video near the end of the book. It didn’t make sense for why that particular person would choose to send it. They had to know sending like that would either put them in jail or get them killed.

I’m out for revenge. After careful planning, I gave the man who messed with my family a taste of his own medicine. I thought it’d end there. It didn’t. Landon King is a genius artist, a posh rich boy, and my worst nightmare. He’s decided that I’m the new addition to his chess game. Too bad for him, I’m no pawn.

Good but all the books feel a bit repetitive
Reviewed: 12-20-24
I think this whole series is worth listening to. But I genuinely recommend taking a decent break between each one unless you want to start getting bored. All the characters (when they are side characters in the other books) seem different with strong personalities. But for some reason when they become the main character in the book they all kind of seem exactly the same as every other main character in this series. The writing is good. I did enjoy them. But just know that going in. That there are just subtle differences once they become main characters but I got a really bored with this one because I’ve been listening to them back to back and it feels like a repeat story over and over. I just wish their personalities and character development were stronger.
I keep hearing the next book is the best and it’s mm. So I’m going directly into it and hoping it’s not the story over again. And when I say the same story I don’t mean that each book is the same time period and just follows a different couple during that time. I like that part of it. It’s that every approach to each relationship feels very similar. Each personality blends quite a bit into the last main characters personality. Every spicy scene felt like they all had the same kinks so it got a little repetitive. And then each ending felt like the exact same ending but with a different bad guy. I hope I’m not steering anyone away from this series, I just wish I had known this going in and wouldn’t have had such high expectations to begin with. These are really well written filler books for me.
As for the performances. I’m always going to give praise first and foremost to duet narration. As an audiobook listener and not a reader, the narration style can really make or break a book for me. And I will always choose a duet/Fullcast duet narrated book over single/dual/Fullcast dual/graphic audio. And these two narrators were perfection.

I’m trapped by the devil. What started as an innocent mistake turned into actual hell. In my defense, I didn’t mean to get involved with a mafia prince. But he barged through my defenses anyway. He stalked me from the shadows and stole me from the life I know. Jeremy Volkov might appear charming, but a true predator lurks inside. He’s out to possess, own, and keep me. But I have no plans to stick around in his blood-soaked world. Or so I think.

I’ve listened to these back to back. I do enjoy them. They are well written. But it does feel like I’m reading the same story over and over. They the fmc seem like the same character as the first two books. And the mmc seems like the same as the mmcs in the first 2 books. All the kinks kind of seem the same too. I would just suggest maybe taking a break after each one for a few books and then come back to it. That way they might not seem so similar :).

Honestly I feel like nothing really happened in this book. But it was fun and spicy. Maybe more of the fantasy aspect and world building will happen in the next two. But you’ll always have a good time listening to a Sadie Kincaid book. NOTHING better than fullcast duet narration for audio. And every performance was great. Top narrators. Both male and female narrators were perfect.

Duet (not dual) narration. Hard to connect to characters
Reviewed: 12-03-24
It wasn’t a bad book but I found myself lacking any connection with any character in the book. I will buy the next one to see if that connection forms more. But a lot of characters were introduced without really saying too much about any of them. I think there is potential so I will continue the series. But it definitely needed more depth in my opinion.
