this book gave me freedom from alcohol and from the stigma of the non medical irrational recoverism.

I used to wish I could drink but couldn't because I had a character defect. Now I know the truth: alcohol is an addictive drug and nothing abnormal happened to me.

I became addicted to an addictive drug. Of course!

sound quality is variable because it was recorded by lots of different people.

It's good to listen to others who have chosen to stop doing ethanol. Very encouraging. My thanks to all who recorded their stories and to Annie Grace for helping me see alcohol for what it is and lose the desire to drink.

Lots of interesting examples. Great introduction especially to humanist ethics.

I was looking for answers having discarded faith and adopting a rationalist view point.

I learnt that there are no easy answers when it comes to moral questions.

Very helpful

Didn't like it at the start because I was drinking but as I sobered up I liked it more and more in the end. He makes a lot of sense and cares about other people.

I guess the language and tone won't be to everyone's taste but I got a few decent laughs out if it as well as some good ideas. 👍

Not really for beginners it would help to know the basics of the Four Noble Truths first.

Mr. Kornfeild is excellent in his delivery and insights. His quotes, stories, jokes and anecdotes are really entertaining.

It was a bit new age in parts but nothing essential was left out or twisted.

I will listen again for sure and I would enjoy being at one of these talks.
