Story
Sometimes a graveside goodbye isn't the end. That's usually when I get a middle of the night phone call. In this case, the person seeking help from their friendly neighborhood reaper is none other than the director of Beechwood's funeral home. Who may be more of a frenemy than a friend. Oops. Here's to hoping I can help rid the funeral home of its latest unwanted guest without burning the last bits of kindling on the bridge back to Karla's good graces. After all, if there's one person you want on your side, it's a summoner of the dead.

Story
The golden rule of shallow flings is not to get attached, right? Well, Havana Ramos broke it. Big time. There's just something about Tate Devereaux that pulls at her. Assertive, compelling, and self-assured, the Alpha cat shifter pushes every one of her best buttons. Like really, really hard. Having overheard an enlightening conversation, she knows he won't give her more than a fling-something, to be fair, he'd told her well in advance. If she doesn't want her heart to get bruised, it's time to end what little they have.

Story
Emily "Tock" Meyerson-Jackson is on a mission to rid the world of shifters trafficking humans for hunting and cash. And now that she's narrowed down her suspects to a brutal coalition of male lions, nothing will get between this honey badger and her prey—not even a dog-loving Tiger with absolutely no time management skills. Doesn't matter that Shay Malone is ferociously adorable. With a war brewing between cat families, Tock doesn't have time to lounge around with a football-playing tiger shifter.

Story
Jane Yellowrock is the queen of the vampires, and that makes her a target as she fights to maintain control and keep peace in the city of New Orleans. She has enemies at every turn, because vampires live forever, and they keep their grudges alive with them. That includes the Heir, the vampire sire of the Pellissier bloodline, which gave rise to Leo Pellissier himself—Jane’s old boss and the former master of the city.

Not as good as the rest of series
Reviewed: 01-24-23
I usually LOVE reading Jane Yellowrock books, but this last one in the series was not as good. Took me longer to get into the story. I miss all the interaction between Jane & her cat. Wasn't much of this in the book. I was hoping for a very compelling end but I don't feel that I got that. just my opinion.

OK book

Not very interesting but I sure did get a good night's sleep listening to it. The female narrator is OK. But the male narrator is boring. This is a light hearted story that is a good listen if you want something light and without much depth.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. It is very well written and has a very smooth plot line. Jim F is one of my favorite narrators. He really brings the books that he narrates to life. I'm glad the author went back to the first 2 teams. I've often wondered what happened to them. I hope the next book is Eve's story and maybe she'll be paired with Kyle or Jeff.

Faith Hunter has really outdone herself with the 14 books in this series. it was entertaining and captivating at the same time. This 14th book ended well. A few might say there were some if hangers but nothing like the previous 13 books.
This is one of my all time favorite series and I have been an avid reader for almost 40 years. Very well written and narrated. The narrator nailed all the voices. I could imagine this book being read by any other person. Well worth the read (or ather listen).

GhostWalker Rubin Campos' rough upbringing made him into the man he is today: strong, steadfast, and wary of outsiders. When he and his brother return to their family's homestead in the Appalachian Mountains, he can immediately sense that a stranger has taken up residence in their cabin - a woman who just happens to be a GhostWalker too. Jonquille is deceptively delicate but clearly a fighter. She also doesn't seem to care that Rubin could kill her where she stands.
