I’m not even 6 chapters in and it’s painful
Reviewed: 04-24-24
It’s hard not wanting to finish a Star Wars book, but the writer clearly is a mid level star wars fan and his writing is so bland and dull I’m literally falling asleep everytime I press play. The story is poorly written and is dragging on, the wording is so 18th century English, the reader is equally as gray and dull. Can’t even do it. Going to YouTube for someone to summarize it for me and be done.

Story
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

Great book as far as information. But every lesson is dragged on so far there could be an 8 episode Netflix series for each reason why you need more sleep.
I bought the book and tried reading it on my own. It’s better but not by much. With the combination of the narrator of this audiobook and the book, the goal of the author is being achieved. I fell asleep every time without fail. Same as that Daniel Kahneman book, thinking fast and slow; it doesn’t need to be as long as it is. I’ll finish the book when someone comes out with a summary.

Nearly everyone swears - whether it's over a few too many drinks, in reaction to a stubbed toe, or in flagrante delicto. And yet we sit idly by as words are banned from television and censored in books. We insist that people excise profanity from their vocabularies, and we punish children for yelling the very same dirty words that we'll mutter in relief seconds after they fall asleep. Swearing, it seems, is an intimate part of us that we have decided to selectively deny.

It was awesome, Jordan is probably one of the most intellectual beings in Canada, and speaks as such. He’s well informed and well spoken. I’m not a big of how he uses religion for comparisons or incorporated it in the book at all, but that’s just me. Still a 5 star book hands down.

Comedy superstar Mike Myers writes from the (true patriot) heart about his 53-year relationship with his beloved Canada. Mike Myers is a world-renowned actor, director and writer and the man behind some of the most memorable comic characters of our time. But, as he says, "No description of me is truly complete without saying I'm a Canadian". He has often winked and nodded to Canada in his outrageously accomplished body of work, but now he turns the spotlight full-beam on his homeland.
