I have been reading Francine River's books for a long time, but knowing this was a true story, makes this one really special. While waiting for my first grandchild, I read Voice In The Wind to my daughter and my Hadassah just turned 20, has always loved to read and write stories, and now works in the small library at a Christian radio station. I think I'll have to buy this book for her. I listened to it on Audible.

Learned a lot about the wool industry and found it charming. After I adjusted the speed, I enjoyed it.

Listened to it the day it came out, love all her characters. They have become like family and I return to them again and again, sometimes to refresh my memory. All her book contain some of the same people, and it just feels like catching up with an old friend.

In 1631 Elizabeth Winthrop, newly widowed with an infant daughter, set sail for the New World. Against a background of rigidity and conformity she dared to befriend Anne Hutchinson at the moment of her banishment from the Massachusetts Bay Colony; dared to challenge a determined army captain bent on the massacre of her friends, the Siwanoy Indians; and, above all, dared to love a man as her heart and her whole being commanded.
