Fun superhero origin story

Was a fun idea and the superheroing was good. My only real issue is all the religion stuff, but I can get passed it to read the story. Will look for the sequel when you it done.

Story
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

Thing of nightmares.

Such a good book, aside from the underage stuff that happens near the end. Narrator does an awesome job of capturing the story, k even find myself cringing during parts with Eddie's mom/wife. If you haven't tried it, you should give a try. if you have tried it, listen again.

Story
As part of a ruthless program by the totalitarian government, ninth-grade students are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food, and various weapons. Forced to wear special collars that explode when they break a rule, they must fight each other for three days until only one "winner" remains. The elimination contest becomes the ultimate in must-see reality television. A Japanese pulp classic available in English-language audio for the first time, Battle Royale is a potent allegory of what it means to be young and survive in today's dog-eat-dog world.

Always Good

Always a good book! Rare time where "book is better than the movie" is actually accurate. Read it or listen to the book yourselves and you'll enjoy it.

Even worse is the reunion being held by the devious Puck race - including the Leandros' friend, Robin - featuring a lottery that no Puck wants to win. As Cal tries to keep both Niko and Robin from paying the ultimate price for their kin, a horrific reminder from Cal's own past arrives to remind him that blood is thicker than water.

Great characters!

I was really impressed with the addition of Grim (or is it Grimm?). A great look at what could have been if Cal had been raised differently. Can't wait to see what else he has in store for Cal and their game!

Story
In New York, there's a troll under the Brooklyn Bridge, a boggle in Central Park, and a beautiful vampire in a penthouse on the Upper East Side. Of course, most humans are oblivious to this, but Cal Leandros is only half-human. His father's dark lineage is the stuff of nightmares - and he and his entire otherworldly race are after Cal.

Big fan of the series
Reviewed: 05-29-18
I've always been a fan of this series, have most of them on paperback. But don't have much free time to sit down and read them like I used to, so finding them on Audible was great! Narrator did a great job. The only thing that threw me off was how "Auphe" was pronounced. Looking forward to going through the rest of the series.
