Nalini Singh gives us two wonderful love stories !

No matter the length of Ms Singh's books, they end too soon. The complex, layered world we are offered feels real enough to be disorienting when lifting ourselves out of the story! This is the story of Vienna and Hawk, Walker and Lara. Yay!!!!

Story
This is it. A point of irrevocable change. For Pavel . . . for Arwen . . . for Yakov . . . and for another pair of twins whose bond has a far darker history. A low-Gradient Psy, Theodora Marshall is considered worthless by everyone but her violently powerful twin, Pax. She is the sole person he trusts in their venomous family to investigate a hidden and terrible part of their family history—an unregistered rehabilitation Center established by their grandfather.

Story
It has been said that Bailey Bryant lives with her middle finger up in the air. She can agree with that. But there's one thing she fails to be breezy about: her unrelenting attraction to fellow enforcer Deke Hammond. Broad, inked, and ruggedly masculine, the grumpy cat shifter could attract a stone. He's also currently riddled with touch-hunger and much crankier than usual. So she should probably stop poking at him for fun—he already despises her. Or so she thinks . . . until one of their disputes leads to an explosive kiss and an exchange of truths.

I don't know how she does it. Her characters stay true from novel to novel and series to series. Storylines are varied and fascinating. I really had my doubts about this one going in as the main female character is so annoying but I loved this book! Make certain you read the whole group of books. It's worth it!

Story
It's not always easy being a female warrior with a nickname like Annwyl the Bloody. Men tend to either cower in fear-a lot-or else salute. It's true that Annwyl has a knack for decapitating legions of her ruthless brother's soldiers without pausing for breath. But just once it would be nice to be able to really talk to a man - the way she can talk to Fearghus the Destroyer. Too bad that Fearghus is a dragon, of the large, scaly, and deadly type.

The Stories of the Mad Queens
Reviewed: 06-02-22
Told by the Queen of Story-Tellers. These two stories are the tales of the queens of the humans and the dragons who inhabit the world created by G. A. Aiken. Filled with humor and romance, treachery and passion, this is the beginning of the series that leaves me howling with laughter and delight as the lives and loves of dragons, humans unfold in all their glory and insanity. This world is also full of magic, centaurs, plotting and scheming, with the occasional god or goddess popping in and out to keep things challenging. When the human world we live in is too dreadful to deal with, remember that things could be worse -- your mother-in-law could be a dragon who thinks of humans as snack-sized morsels who occasionally talk too much.

The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past... but Dmitri's need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.
