“Why is this town called Mother’s Rest?” That’s all Reacher wants to know. But no one will tell him. Enjoyed the characters as well as the story. Was a bit slow in parts and I was left with a few questions. Already anticipating his next book, or should I say their next book. Very well read by Dick Hill, as always.

But when a friend asks him for a favor that involves both dogs and his lawyerly expertise, he can't say no. Andy's friend Beth has found a stray that seems to have belonged to a murder victim - in fact, the man and two of his colleagues died in an explosion a few weeks ago.

Andy’s retirement lost again!
Reviewed: 07-04-23
Grover Gardener did an excellent job of bringing MUZZLED to life. David Rosenfelt brings Andy Carpenter to us live and in living color to tell a story of corruption and murder, and he does it well. His characters are believable and well known from his other Andy books. Marcos is one of my favorites. Rosenfelt can blend his love of dogs, and especially Tara, with his characters and story. I liked this book, as I’ve enjoyed all of his books!

Story
Retired lawyer Andy Carpenter’s calling has always been running the Tara Foundation. The dog rescue organization places hundreds of dogs in new homes every year. It’s added up to so many dogs and new owners that Andy can’t even do the math. But there’s one dog—and one owner—Andy will always remember. About a year ago, Rachel Morehouse came to the foundation looking for a companion. In her sixties and recently widowed, Rachel wanted a senior dog that also needed someone. Andy took a liking to her, Rachel took a liking to Lion, an older Chow Chow, and the rest is history.

The characters are alive and well and have great senses of humor, brought forth by David Rosenfelt. These are great stories! Love the dogs and the titles!! No

Continuing the saga of Pen and her ghost, Jack. Jack is a great character in his own right and he’s often Pen’s courage. Pen dreams Jack’s life. These mysteries are cozy; they I continue to hold the reader’s interest and come to a solved end. I’m enjoying them and will now go to book 4.

This series of K-9 war dogs is very good. I’d like to see the dogs more involved with the men that find them. They could be more central in the books. However, since I’ve read every one so far, I will say they are very informative, showing great care for the dogs by the humans that find and save them, and the romance in each case is enjoyed. I love these dogs! Looking forward to the next one. Brian Meslar is an excellent narrator!!

Change of pace

Well, it was exciting! Very much a female Indiana Jones! I liked she had a sidekick to get her thru some tough non-feminine parts. Gabriella needed Reefer! Storyline was exciting and the chase of the bad guy held some surprises. Not sure how I really feel about this new character, but I like her job. Need a sequel. Stephanie Plum still my favorite. Lorelei King is great as Stephanie - a bit too arrogant for Gabriella. I would recommend this book as a change of pace.
