Another amazing book! Can't wait for book 3

in this book they cracked open the narrative wide and maybe too wide but they seem to be quick to complete tasks and still be wonderfully entertaining. I would still call this a 5/5

expanding and exploring!

while I would of loved for the series to be a small one. I really enjoy the characters and over all story. this book expands the world while not making it overly complicated. it's got more of the same with additional depth the first book was lacking. I can't wait for the next!

An orc who has seen more than his fair amount of fighting, Arek wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his days cooking and away from the chaos of combat. However, when Ming and her group of adventurers hire him as their full-time chef, his plans of avoiding violence crumble. He longs to leave his blood-soaked mistakes in his past, but old friends and foes have different ideas.

Ending fell short
Reviewed: 08-05-21
This is a continuation of the story, which if you have gotten this far has been great. continues in the same fashion with different twists and turns. However I do wish there was another chapter that summarizes the truncation of an ending scene. over all still great.

Great Start To a Fantasy Novel

loved the book, lots of creativity and story seems pretty good, however the author took some choices for the book that I personally think didn't fit the narrative. not enough though to pass up the book.

TLDR; Wait for the movie, If it gets one.
Reviewed: 02-23-21
This book felt like it was created so that if there was going to be a movie adaptation they would be able to have liberties and freedoms to make it probably very good. however it left the actual book being a let down. I would say wait for the movie.
over all it was lacking the character and charm the previous book did and felt it was created to be a movie. so just wait for the movie as all the references and details stared in the book would be better seen than told to you via image recognition software, its like this smart kid just got dumb and lucky.
