Story
Veteran sailor and writer Christian Williams invites us along once again on a 5,000-mile voyage of discovery around the North Pacific. Equipped with a new boat, a well-stocked toolbox, and the entire history of philosophic thought, he takes us as crew through squalls and calms deep into a laboratory of the universe that exists only out of sight of land. Funny, erudite, and at times deeply personal, Philosophy of Sailing explores who we are and how encounters with the unknown can be a path to revelation and joy.

Although much/many Great things may be learned from this persons writing... Fuck! it is so challenging to listen to that whatever learning there is!!! FUCK his horrible reading/listening. This goes for his other book as well, really has no one told him to just let it go. I would have bought the paper books if I never herd his bullshit Boomer Voice.
Seriously what publisher let this Boomer read his book. Cuz F7ck we can All learn from his journey but He Sucks!!!!!!! This really sums up his generation.
ANYONE SHOULD READ THIS OTHER THAN ANYONE SHOULD READ THIS OTHER THAN CHRISTIAN WILLIAMS!!!!!!

Story
Rick's recent appearance on Ben Fogle's New Lives in the Wild chronicled his budget lifestyle and adventures aboard Calypso, and introduced the idea of budget sailing to a whole new audience - an audience who may have never considered the possibility that such a dream could be made a reality, on such a small amount of money. This book is for them and for any experienced sailors who want to cast off the yoke of consumerist yachting and get back to what really matters at sea.

Fantastic perspective on the sea gypsy life! yeah it is not a book to teach you how to sail, doesn't claim to, and those who get but hurt foe being called out on their "american" mass consumption and capitalist life styles are the exact opposite of any gypsy let alone a sea gypsy. So yeah take this book for what it is and enjoy. Some great stories, and good tips, well written and entertaining.
