Moses was like my son. this drew me in immediately
Reviewed: 08-22-24
not a book I normally read. I have an adopted son. And from the beginning of this story I was hooked. It was immensely interesting . Moses was misunderstood. The realationship with Georgia was sweet. I couldn't stop listening. it will stay with me for a long while. makes me wonder who is fallowing me around.

Story
1867, Richmond, Virginia: Though she wears the same low-cut purple gown that is the uniform of all the girls who work at Worsham's gambling parlor, Arabella stands apart. It's not merely her statuesque beauty and practiced charm. Even at seventeen, Arabella possesses an unyielding grit, and a resolve to escape her background of struggle and poverty. Collis Huntington, railroad baron and self-made multimillionaire, is drawn to Arabella from their first meeting. Collis is married and 30 years her senior, yet they are well-matched in temperament, and flirtation rapidly escalates into an affair.

Story
In town, they called her "Crazy Widow Dinsmore". But Elly was no stranger to their ridicule - she had been an outsider all her life, growing up in a boarded-up old house under the strict eye of her eccentric grandparents. Now she was all alone, with two little boys to raise, and a third child on the way. Will Parker drifted into Whitney, Georgia, one lazy afternoon in the summer, hoping to put his lonely past behind him. He yearned for the tenderness he had never known, the home he'd never had. All he needed was for someone to give him a chance.

Story
Raised amid the fame and mystique of the Big Top, Charlie Lionheart holds the audience in the palm of his hand. But while his act captivates thousands, it's away from the spotlight where his true heart lies. Here, he humbly cares for his pride of lions as if they were his brothers, a skill of bravery and strength that has prepared him for his most challenging feat yet - freeing an orphaned infant from the dark bondage of a sideshow. It is a trade so costly that it requires his life in exchange for hers, leaving him tarnished by the price of that choice.

Joanne Bischof is very expressive and brings you into the story easily. Every look or thought she made me feel. Some of the lines, I had to read over and over, they were so well written. She is one of the Authors I will look for more of her writings. well worth my time. Gail Shalan is a fantastic Narrator. Joel Clarkson did well in his supportive narration.

I liked that each personality was revealed as their stories unfold. First appearance is nothing. Great listen to pass the time while I sew. I really appreciate someone reading to me so I can stay busy. It sure isn't easy to be all the characters and have people judge the performance. I happy . It was entertaining.

this was a good story. made me frustrated and the husband was so stubborn. speed of the narrator couldn't be slowed down, so it was too fast for my liking. I know it must take a lot of time to narrate. I appreciate it.
