She hopes to find a place where her nursing skills and independent ideas will be accepted and appreciated, but nothing prepares her for the wild mixture of isolation, community, brokenness, and hope within these mountains … or in the person of Jeb McAdams.

This is one of the most beautiful books I have read. I did not like the narrator. But the story was heartfelt and full of love both for God and all His people!

A well constructed time-travel
Reviewed: 10-31-21
It’s a story for smart people. There’s very little fluff. It is delivered from a very scientific viewpoint by the author. The characters are well constructed. Usually with time travels I get so involved in the past that I don’t want the characters to return to the future but in this case I liked the past and future characters! It was a very interesting read almost more of a scientific mystery than a true romance, although there is a happily ever after!

No longer the handsome devil or kind man of his youth, now he focuses solely on rebuilding everything that was lost to the brutal Chisolms and traitorous MacRays. Revenge - while not nearly as important as keeping his clan from starving - is the only thing that keeps his bruised heart beating.

Heavy and fulfilling
Reviewed: 08-20-21
Wow. This one was heavy but beautiful. The author did a wonderful job with layers of the story. Spoiler: there is addiction, some abuse that might make some people sensitive to issues uncomfortable. The romance development was lovely. It’s a very steamy, descriptive novel. Loved the ending. Justine Eyre has the most beautiful voice but the make reader was sooo monotone. Also the shifting between the two was a struggle as I had to adjust to the different voices for the same characters. Overall very enjoyable!

Oh I did not want this one to end!!! It was so good. The heroine is spunky and funny and a sweet air head (kind of) and the hero is a crabby guy who thinks his life is over but of course she changes that silly notion rather quickly!!! Very very good!!
