Every story gets better. Every addition brings more world-building, deeper character development, and greater life to the serious. Without the great narrators, this series wouldn't be nearly as fantastic to listen to

i downloaded this because it had Annabelle Hawthorne on it and I'm a huge fan. but I didn't really see much of her narrative flair in any of this story, leading me to believe it was more Virgil Knightly than her. i feel like the dialogue here was clunky, the story dragged, and the characters lacked much personality or soul. there are some interesting concepts and I'm barely interested enough to buy the next book.

The Narrators were ok. Faye Bishop lacked much range with her characters, and more often than not they were annoying to listen to, especially Aurora. Tom North was better, though not by much. he seemed to have only two voices, young and old.

More heart and less smut this time

I remember the first time I read this story on Literotica and I was struck by how little actual erotica there was. That didn't bother me at all because the story was so good. This story holds a special place in my heart because I'm a veteran and reading about Darren's struggle rings true on so many accounts.

Amber Lee Conners and Kieran Flitton aren't as good as the normal narrators for Anabelle Hawthorne's books. Their variety in voices is lacking, and ofttimes their tones while narrating are monotonous. But they do convey emotion very well, and I particularly feel like Amber Lee Conners voice as Ana was perfect.

Anabelle Hawthorne is a hidden gem. Alyssa Poon is her avatar. Smut with a storyline has no business being this good. More world building, more complex and deep characters, and more heart warming moments.

So yes, these stories are smut at their core. The plot can't exist without the copious sex. BUT... the story is AMAZING. Annabelle Hawthorne does an incredible job of world building. She does a jar-dropping job of taking a story who's initial draw is the raw sexual fantasy of a harem and turning into something you can't put down.

And the voice performances! I didn't know who Alyssa Poon was, but she's way better than we deserve as a smut narrator. She does a VERY good job making each voice distinct with accents and mannerisms and all.

How is it possible for such an infuriating man to make a HISTORY book so damned entertaining to read/listen to!?! I love the world he's created and this book made me live it more. The narrator went a long way to making such a chronicle a joy to listen to.

As per usual, Conn Iggulden masterfully combines history and artful storytelling to continue this epic tale. John Curless, likewise, brings the story to life in a way I'm sure no outlet narrator can. A superb listening experience, as always.

I had received a lot of recommendations to read this book, but didn't really do that much for me. For a book that was titled so abrasively, the author contradicts it by alluding to the things you ought to give a f*ck about. He reads it well enough but the voices he makes when quoting other people are annoying

I'm a self-identified nice guy. While there were things here that I could identify with, by and large I feel like I stopped learning anything after the first third of this book had passed. Glover goes into excruciating detail of what a nice guy is but much less detail into how to avoid being one and strategies to combat it. As a narrator, I felt like there was a constant, mocking undertone as he read, especially whenever he said the term "nice guy", which had to account for at least 3000 of the whole book's word count. There are much better self help books out there
