Story
One heroic act damned me for eternity. With a name like Tor, I should have been a hero, just like my father and twin. Turns out I’m not. Not even close. Instead I’m the very thing we hunted. A depraved monster. I thought there was no escaping the curse. No hope for a future. And then I met my mate in the unlikeliest of places: Blackwood Asylum. A place for criminals. Power-hungry madmen. Supernatural outcasts. And her, the curvaceous writer who sees ghosts.

Story
So I'm throwing myself a breakup party, a glittery fete where I envision I'll lift a glass and celebrate being free and single again. What I actually do: drink too much champagne and blurt out to my best guy friend that I'd really like to get back on the horse. But what I truly don't expect is Carter's answer—he volunteers as tribute.

I hate picking out audio books. I never know if I’ll end up with something I like and it’s hard to sometimes find something I love. I like emotional romance. This delivers. I loved Olivia Song. It took about five minutes to get used to her voice but I just loved this book. Read it. It’s worth the credit.

Cute, Emotional Romantic Drama
Reviewed: 09-13-19
This was hard for me to get into at first. I think if I was reading the book it would have been different, as I could go back and double check who a character was, but since I listen to books at work or in the car and am sometimes only partially listening, it can be more challenging to follow along. Not necessarily the authors fault, just it is what it is. When I first started this book it was like that, but as time went on I was able to follow the characters and the plot line just fine. I liked the narrator's voice and the characters were well rounded. I wasn't looking for a cheesy romance novel, but instead something more angsty and emotional with an actual story line. This novel delivered that as well as some laughs here and there. If you like the move Love, Rosie or the book One Day In December, then I think you would like this as well.

Not for Me
Reviewed: 07-18-19
If you liked A Man Called Ova or whatever that book is, you will probably like this. I hated both. This also reminds me of the Girl on a Train audiobook which I equally hated. For some reason, these novels all remind me of one another and they just aren't for me. The characters drive me nuts. It's like there is no protagonist.

Story
Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Loved the Bride but HATED the Wedding
Reviewed: 07-18-19
I'm the type of person that usually HAS to finish a book or audiobook if I start it. I loved The Bride, but hated The Wedding and returned it halfway thru. The Bride was totally entertaining, albeit a typical highland romance novel. It's the type of book I don't want anyone to know I'm reading, but can't put it down. I wish there would have been a different voice for male characters though.

The narrators did an okay job. Not my favorites or spectacular, but not awful.
The story made no sense. The actions of the characters did not add up and it seemed like this writer wrote the book in the biggest rush, and had a bad editorial team as well. There was a lot of sharp corners in the book without any lead up and then it would flip flop back in a really annoying way.
The main female character was super annoying and didn’t have a lot going for her. WHY? Gosh, I wish authors would take a few extra minutes when writing to strengthen their female characters. It seems to be a common theme.
Also, 22? Could you have made her a little older? It felt too young for the stage she was setting. Again, things were just off they ought the whole book.

Story
A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

Spoiler alert in second paragraph:
I really enjoyed this book. It was cute, sexy, and had an okay amount of drama without being obnoxious. I love both narrators, and they always do a great job. It wasn’t my favorite book but it was enjoyable and worth a credit.
The warning is that there are custody battles in this book. If that is something that triggers you (I hate that word) then be forewarned. Having gone thru a custody battle with an awful person (for real) then this might cause some anxiety listening too.
