Story
What is life? This is among the most difficult open problems in science, right up there with the nature of consciousness and the existence of matter. All the definitions we have fall short. None help us understand how life originates or the full range of possibilities for what life on other planets might look like. In Life as No One Knows It, physicist and astrobiologist Sara Imari Walker argues that solving the origin of life requires radical new thinking and an experimentally testable theory for what life is.

This is such an interesting concept that not only challenges the growth of our current understanding but provides a very interesting philosophy of how to perceive life. I will certainly listen to this again over time.
Personally, understanding how important the passing of time and the building of information are gives me great comfort. Now knowing how even the mundane things in life are actually so critically important and everlasting is a game changer. I have always felt that on a spiritual level but now can directly connect that to reality.

Rachel Goldman writes mysteries in which Duffy Madison, consultant to the county prosecutor's office, helps find missing persons. Rachel is busy working on her next book when a man calls out of the blue asking for help in a missing person case. The caller's name? Duffy Madison. Is this real, or has she lost her mind? She doesn't have much time to find out, because a serial killer is on the loose, kidnapping and murdering mystery authors. And Rachel may just be the next target.

A new series to read/listen to is like finding a hidden treasure. Saw this book listed on the Books and Authors FB page and thought I would try it out.
It's about a mystery writer whose character "comes to life" - well not actually comes to life. He is a living, breathing person with the same name, occupation and mannerisms that author Rachel Goldman made up for her mystery series.
One day out of the blue he calls her for help and leaves her wondering if she has lost her mind or if he has lost his!
Rachel gets dragged in to helping with a serial killer targeting random authors. Could she be next?
Read/listen to it and find out!! It's humorous and captivating from beginning to end!
The narrator is great too! Her voice fits what you would imagine Rachel to sound like.

I love all of the books I have read/listened to from Ellery Adams, but I think this is my new favorite of this series) well until the next one comes out and then it becomes my new favorite).
Ella Mae and her friends and family come together again to defeat another deadly nemesis with fun, flirting and food along the way.
Serious issues face her and hunky Hugh - will this new development through a ratchet in their relationship? No spoilers here - you must read it for yourself! You will love it!
Also another bonus is that all the books I have read that have food usually are all about sweet, syrupy, buttery goodness - which I have tried to ignore because I have a wheat and dairy allergy, so I always think of ways to change the recipe for me to be able to enjoy. Sometimes though it's just too hard to make it as good (as I remember or it sounds). Ella Mae introduces allergy free crust and pies and I can't wait to try try it! My granddaughter also has Celiac so I am very glad to see a change/option in the books! Am I motivated by food? Maybe!
The Wounded Warrior program is also in this book, which is another program near and dear to my heart!
Regardless of the food or the program mentioned in here, this book has a great story line and plot - as do all of Ellery's books that I have read so far!
You will not be disappointed!!

Skye and Wally finally get to go on their honeymoon but of course they are not on board without family, friends and a murder to solve!!
While being stalked by the killer on the islands their cruise ship stops at, they still manage to have some fun with their friends and Skye and Trixie get some fabulous batik fabric shopping in! Made me drool over the beautiful descriptions of the fabric - I am a fabriholic, so of course I would love to take a cruise and go shopping there!
Will they all put their heads together and figure out the killer, or will May be hauled off to be questioned by the FBI when they get back to the US?
Read it and see....you will love it!!
